Sounds like a pretty nice ballplayer. Where is he headed to next year? I'm sure the usual cast of characters are courting this young man.

If you mean what I think you mean, isn't that illegal in Ky?

It is but you will come to learn BigZig believe in a underground community of Catholic school recruiters who like to go to small towns and take their best players away.

:D As I've said before bigstud I don't single out Catholic institutions at all. Some PRIVATE and even some public schools in our area actively pursue exceptional athletes in NKY.

Someone else brought up the fact that scouts were there to see this kid play and suggested he might go to Lov.Trinity. I was wondering what scouts might have been there? Maybe a couple in various arrays of say blue and white or blue and gold or how about green and white or maybe even a red and black combo. And not Newport red and black. Oh well, could have been anyone just out to watch some good freshmen basketball. ;)

Yea HC just figured the Ludlow pipeline is running thin so we just moved on. :D

Running thin? You had one win the game for you tonight and at any given time you could have 4 in the lineup on your girls team. Your boys freshmen I recently discovered has at least 1 and I think 2 on the team and is the Weber kid on J.V. this year for you guys. But hey who is counting, right. :D We are just glad down here in good old Ludlow we could help our Latonia friends out. It would have been sad to watch the demise of the "HC Community" . Even if you guys are constantly redrawing your boundaries.

The Weber kid does not play. But I do not count him as a Ludlow kid. He went to Ludlow for a couple years.

I coached the kid all through grade school. He grew up in covington, his mom lived in Covington. His dad in Ludlow. He belonged to St.Augustine Parish his whole life a Holy Cross feeder school. Played basketball there 3-8. He played baseball at St.Augustine and later with a team called Delta Force filled with those same St.Augustine players and won the Cincy Tourney.

His brother went to Holmes. Alex not at any point did he want to attend Ludlow. But at the time since he was living with his dad those last 2 years it was easier for him to attend Ludlow.

Sorry had to get that off my chest.

Who are the freshman? The only major contributing freshman who is not from an HC Feeder schools is Brandon Housley, I believe he is from Newport.

O.K. bigstud you can keep the Weber kid as your own since you say he is not playing.

On your freshmen team I know of Tyler Shelton. Saw another kid from Ludlow there tonight who I know has sisters going to HC just not sure what grade he is in. Jack Wirth.

Don't know them. Alex will be playing baseball though.

Just curious but why not basketball.?

I went to watch the Wildcats, and Arkansas Brewer play tonight, and it sure was amazing to see this youngman play. Newport beat a sound Panther team 61-24, "ARK" had 23 pts(3 for 3, 3 pointers), 11 rebounds,5 asssist, and 5 steals. He so good people and fans are starting to come just to watch him play, there were actually scouts there, someone had stated that he might go to Louisville Trinity, but in reality I think he will be a Wildcat.

Easy there HD. Just let the kid play and enjoy. I heard the same hype thing in football and then watched him complete more passes to the opposition than to his team.

I had heard that the "ARK" was playing AAU for the Louisville Derby City Ballers, they won state last year and did well Nationally!!!

Does anyone know what happen to the Steve Helmer standout from Ludlow? He did'nt play last night, I was wondering is he playing varsity or did he move out of the district.

Derby City Ballers finished 2nd in Division II State. They didn't attend the National Tourney. Ark played for the Louisville Yellow Jackets last year.
