Records so far among those schools mentioned, class of 2010, 6th grade to current 8th grade season

 

Gray vs. Ockerman 3-2

Gray vs. Turkeyfoot 5-1

Gray vs. Highlands 1-2

 

I don't know Ockerman, Turkeyfoot, and Highlands record against each other, maybe someone can enlighten us. All games have been close between these schools.

 

As for the Catholic schools, Gray is the only public school in the St Joes tourney next week. We will see how they do then.

 

You can throw out the AAU records because Gray has two AAU teams, Ockermans AAU plays with kids from other areas of the state, most of Turkeyfoots team plays together but one of their best players plays for someone else.

 

As another post says, a lot can change over the next few years. Kids transfer, move in, grow, stop growing, improve or don't improve and so on.

 

Ockerman 2010 hasn't played Highlands.

 

Ockerman 2010 has an AAU team now that plays at Sports of All Sorts as the Boone County Rebels. Currently, they are 4-0 in first place in the 14 team division. They beat the Blue Aces, the Magic, the Raiders (combination of Gray's best players, 1 of Turkeyfoot's starters, three kids from the N KY Jazz, and 1 from Pendleton), and Turkeyfoot's team by 17. Good luck to Gray in the Catholic tournament. I look for them to win it.

Sounds like a competative league out at the new S.O.A.S., what a nice place for these youngmen to play. Is there any other good teams in that Division that the Boone County Rebels have not played yet???

Does anyone know if the best freshmen will be playing against Highland's 8th grade tonight ???

I just came from the game, the Birds half-tracked the Wildcats with the best 8th grader playing. The Birds have way to much depth for the Wildcats, they probably beat Newport tonight even if they had another player as good as Ark. Ark. is a nice player but I find it hard to believe he is the best freshmen!!!

I think they have already played the top teams. The Newport Wildcats and Boone County Rockets may be the toughest teams left on their schedule.

Is this ARK kid the real deal if he is 2 years older, playing freshmen ball, and losing by 26 pts? I don't care how bad his teammates may be, if he is "the best player in the 9th region" he should be able to keep it a game.

Way too much banter about an 8th grader. If the kid was big (6'7-6-9 range) I would understand such conversation. How many physically mature middle school superstars lose some of the shine as the years go by, and their peers catch up?

I think Highlands' 8th grade team beat the Newport's 8th grade team last night pretty handily with Ark playing for Newport (or at least that's what my 8th grade son told me and he watched the game). He said Ark was big, fast, quick and could jump but did not dominate the game and didn't score that much until late in the game when the Birds started subbing. Don't know all that to be accurate, but that's what my son said and we all know that 8th grade boys always tell the God honest truth!

 

 

 

OOOPS, didn't realize there was another page when I made this post. Old news.

Highlands 8th Grade Boys team really looked tough, they are big, quick, and can shoot the lights out. They should do very well in the Tournament and I guess Coach Schlarman would have to feel good about his future Bluebirds!!

If he's not the best freshman in NKY in the region. Email me and I come out!!!
