I would consider Northern Kentucky to be the 9th region is that fair???I also think that Simon Kenton, Walton,Scott, and Bishop Brossart and Campbell County shouldn't be included for this reason :thumb:

Kenton County is dead between Boone and Campbell Counties, and they have three public High schools Dixie, Simon Kenton, and Scott.

They are all three in different regions. Go figure???

Look at a map and imagine you're anywhere but Campbell, Kenton and Boone Counties; and tell me what part of the state you think they're in???? You're telling me Scott High School, probably 5-6 miles from Cincinnati as the crow flys isn't in NKY because they're not in the 9th region anymore???? WOW--Obviously not many geography majors out there!!

Scott being in the 10th is the biggest joke ever, but Coach Carr had to do what had to do to stay out of the 35th district.

That's a very provincial attitude.

I'm from Gallatin County. We certainly aren't in Central Ky. We can't get daily delivery of either the Courier-Journal or the Herald-Leader. Only the Post and Enquirer (but for whatever reason, the powers that be at the Enquirer send the Cincy Metro edition to Gallatin Co. instead of the Ky Edition).

I guess you think Pendleton, Gallatin and Grant counties (the second ring) should just be considered "in limbo?"

Being a graduate of PC (during the down years) I always felt that we were floating like an island,to far south to be considered northern ky and to far north for central ky, we are somewhere stuck in the middle, we are also a county with one high school unlike campbell, kenton, and boone which is a whole other bag of worms, our rivals was always bracken which also has no affliation with nky, so in the short no i don't consider us a northern ky team---but to exclude BB and Scott is a stretch

regardless of the region (8,9,or10) geography should be determining factor in discussion of NKY teams. If you only include 9th region, the only state championship in NKY is not included. I know Simon Kenton was in the 9th in 1981 so were a lot of other teams that now are not. Pendleton is in a region that includes some of those teams. Also Pendleton is in the Middle school league with Highlands and other NKY teams. Why wouldn't you include them?

I'm obviously for including them, as I don't know where else you put them. Just so the PC fans remember this when their teams may not be as strong as the last couple of years!!

Considering the development south on US 27 it will not be long before Urban sprawl reaches Falmouth. Suburbia NKY is not far away.

I do not think they should be included nor should any other team that is not from Campbell, Kenton, or Boone county.

Coaches in those 3 counties see enough of the other teams to make a reasonable assessment of teams.

It wouldn't be fair to Pendleton or any of the other teams like Bracken County or Gallatin to include them in a poll where most coaches are unfamiliar with the teams. Maybe some paper should conduct a separate poll for teams not in NKY and not in Lexington or Louisville polls.

Anyone who knows anything about basketball knows that Pendleton County is one of the better if not the best team in Northern Kentucky. It doens't matter what the coaches say in the ninth region or that so called newspaper in Northern Kentucky. People from Pendleton have know for years that unless your a ninth region school your not going to get true coverage from the northern kentucky papers and the same can now be said for Campbell Co. as well. The fact that there has only been one 9th region team to ever win the state tournament should tell you that northern ky lives in its own little world (9th region) when they think that year in and year out their teams are superior to those in the out lying counties.

I would not be surprised if you work for the post sports section, given the coverage of the 10th region tournament even though there are teams from Campbell and Kenton involved. I say let the NKY keep their poll and we will see you in the state tournament. :madman:
