Enquirer considers Pendleton in NKY

regardless of the region (8,9,or10) geography should be determining factor in discussion of NKY teams.

 

Absolutely right. Pendleton is very much in northern Kentucky, and so are counties like Mason and Robertson and Harrison. They certainly aren't central. And speaking purely from geography, you could say the same thing about counties as far down as Owen and Henry and Oldham and maybe even Jefferson.

It really doesn't matter to me.Opening the paper and seeing PC in the NKy poll doesn't make me feel any better.Seeing them in the AP orCantrell rankings now thats a different story.Surprises me they even send stats to the post for their weekly publication.

I would not be surprised if you work for the post sports section, given the coverage of the 10th region tournament even though there are teams from Campbell and Kenton involved. I say let the NKY keep their poll and we will see you in the state tournament. :madman:

I don't make the rules for what coaches each newspaper wants to poll in order to compile a Top 10 list.

 

I don't make the rules for what teams newspapers cover and to what extent.

 

If you don't like what a newspaper does call, write, oe email them. I'm going to guess they make their decisions based on $$$. If over 90% of their subscriptions and over 90% of their ad money comes from Campbell, Kenton, and Boone Co then that area is going to be covered.

 

I think both the Enquirer and the Post do as much as they can to cover Brossart, Campbell Co, Silver Grove, and now Scott and Simon Kenton but neither paper has a mega-staff. If the 9th region All-A, districts, and region are going on at the same time as the 8th and 10th region, they are going to cover the tourney with the most teams in their coverage area.

 

Why would Pendleton, Gallantin, Carroll, Mason, Augusta, St. Pat's want to be included in a poll where very few of the coaches (who are the ones voting, not the paper) have seen them play?

 

Two years from now when the Cincinnati Post is dead and only the KY Post remains there probably will be an expanded area of coverage extending further south towards Lexington.

I think I'm going to start my own newspaper! I'll cover Pendleton, Bracken, Mason, Harrison, Augusta, Deming, Campbell County, St. Patricks, Gallatin, Owen, Grant and Williamstown. (Did I leave anyone out)

 

If I'm correct though, when Pendleton went to state the only television stations that covered the journey to Lexington were stations out of Lexington. LadiesBBall or MildfordFlash do you remember?

But they will GLADLY sell you a subscription if you are from Mason, Bracken, Pendleton, Gallatin or Grant.

Its very simple if some of these bordering counties want to be considered in the papers make your voice heard. If there is a large number of subscribers in your counties and everyone speaks up trust me the papers will listen to the almighty $.

Walton Verona is not in the NKAC but get consideration.

I think we all can agree on that one.

If South Laurel can be claimed as an eastern Kentucky team as many have done, I see no reason that Pendleton County can't be claimed as a northern Kentucky team.

Scott being in the 10th is the biggest joke ever, but Coach Carr had to do what had to do to stay out of the 35th district.

 

I seriously doubt the KHSAA consulted Coach Carr before they did the re-alignment. For that matter I doubt they consulted anyone in the Kenton Cty School District after the way they butchered that up.
