Walton-Verona is in Boone County and used to be in the 9th region. Also used to be in the NKAC too I believe although I do remember then dropping out at some point I think.

I agree with you on that. To me, it sometimes seems that they are more of a popularity contest but they are always a subject of great debate and fans really enjoy seeing them. Being a PC fan, its great to see how high they might be ranked. However, this debate about whether or not PC is a part of Northern KY has almost gotten to the point of being ridiculous.

I think I'm going to start my own newspaper! I'll cover Pendleton, Bracken, Mason, Harrison, Augusta, Deming, Campbell County, St. Patricks, Gallatin, Owen, Grant and Williamstown. (Did I leave anyone out)

 

If I'm correct though, when Pendleton went to state the only television stations that covered the journey to Lexington were stations out of Lexington. LadiesBBall or MildfordFlash do you remember?

I would say any school in Boone, Kenton, or Campbell county is considered NKY.

That's a very provincial attitude.

 

I'm from Gallatin County. We certainly aren't in Central Ky. We can't get daily delivery of either the Courier-Journal or the Herald-Leader. Only the Post and Enquirer (but for whatever reason, the powers that be at the Enquirer send the Cincy Metro edition to Gallatin Co. instead of the Ky Edition).

 

I guess you think Pendleton, Gallatin and Grant counties (the second ring) should just be considered "in limbo?"

 

I guess I have never really given it much thought. I know it is never mentioned in Grant County . They have their own weekly paper "the Grant County News". I know that Pendleton County has the "Falmouth outlook".

 

This has only really come into play since the transfer of Elliot. Pendleton, Grant and Gallatin were never factors before, hence no complaints until last year and this year.

As far as I am concerned I hope that none of you consider Harrison County as Northern Kentucky! Being grouped as part of Northern Kentucky is a scary thought.

They get the Sunday CJ and that's it. They used to get the H-L, but they quit delivering it to the CarryOut about 8-9 months ago, much to my father's consternation.

From the looks of the JV game tonight, that year may be just around the corner, unless there's some more transfers in the wings; but I still think they should be considered NKY on sheer geography alone?? What else would they be--Central KY?? I think it does go back to not being part of the NKAC.

Well Pendleton County did play NDA in a KAAC quick Recall match on September 20, but I sort of felt bad for the Pendleton kids, as they were beaten badly, by the NDA girls. So I guess they are trying to be part of Northern Kentucky in High School matters other than in just sports.

 

To enlighten those who only do sports, the KAAC sponsor the "Governors Cup" which is played in Louisville each year. The “Governors Cup” is a very highly competitive competition and the Quick Recall matches are the most hotly contested of all the competitions. This is the "smart kids sweet sixteen", and is as competitive as any State High School Football or Basketball Tournament. Really it is a great show, and if you want to see the future leaders of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, come to this event. One day one of these kids will own the team that the Mr. Basketball of Kentucky will play on.......

According to the KY Post Top 10, which does not consider PC - They list Holmes, BB, Dixie, and Newport in the top ten. The Wildcats beat these teams by a combined total of 74 points, and if you throw in Campbell and New Cath it jumps to 98 total points. Whether they are included in the NKY poll are not they are by far dominating those schools, the polls may not show it but the scores say it!

Why would Pendleton want to be part of NKY if it's this big of a deal. Who needs em?!
