Nope, but I saw them last year twice (WC & Collins) and thought they were highly overrated (they were just plain BAD on defense)...and I've seen the offer list on their players this year as well as their scores and still think they're just not what they have been in the past.

There are 20 teams in KY that can claim this. And those numbers have come against a weaker than usual schedule. I'll say it again, and again, and again...Highlands is a top two team in 4A and a very good team. BUT they are not what they have been. It's OK to say that they're not an utterly dominant team this year or one of the state's best two or three. Several Highlands supporters on here seem to be struggling with that concept. I say the same thing about Trinity...and have gotten almost the same reaction. Both could quite easily win titles...and I'll STILL say neither is ANYWHERE near as good as what they were several years ago. That's all. Not that they can't win it all or that they aren't good teams, my argument is just that they're not as dominant as they have been and that there are now teams in their classes that have a better shot of taking them down than there has been in the past.

I think you have misread what I wrote...go back and look more closely.

The Campbell Co. game. They lost to a top flight FL team who had to travel 800 miles to play the game. They barely beat a good, but not great, Bryan Station team. A 36-0 win over a 2-6 Holmes team Is that a bit of nit-picking? Yes. But I stand by my statement. Highlands is still one of the top two in 4A and a very good team, but the are in no way the overwhelming Highlands of a few years ago. Hence, I don't feel that they've been overwhelming.

Highlands has played two quality opponents...the FL team and Bryan Station. Warren Central and Madisonville would be 6-2 against Highland's schedule right now too...NKY is awful this year outside of the Birds...who themselves have hardly been overwhelming.

Agreed, whatever was wrong with them at the start of they year, they seem to have begun to put the pieces together and are looking like more of what we thought they would look like. Big test this week against an athletic Hoptown.

I ask, yet AGAIN, where has ANYONE said ANYTHING negative about Hilton? EVERYONE's contention here is with TAYLOR Co. as a program and the general attitude towards football in that community, with mostly specific respects to some of the wildly optimistic comparative allusions regarding these and the surrounding programs. And so far, the detractors keep coming up correct. ...and what Central KY programs are better? Danville...obvious, duh? Boyle...obvious, duh? Green...obvious, the wins over the last ten years are not even comparable Mercer...obvious, as was shown Friday LaRue is arguably a better job as that the facilities are better as is the football tradition. Adair is a much better job RIGHT NOW and will remain so for the next two years. Then it depends on what you call Central KY...if you count Lexington, the Pulaski schools and the Hardin Co. schools, then it almost becomes too many to name. ...at the end of the day, Taylor, this past Friday, even with A GREAT COACH, was who we all know Taylor Co. To be.

OptionFootball, you are awesome...you brazenly have dropped your allegiance to Taylor Co.'s rebuilding project and moved on to what is wrong with Hart Co. now...there's a movie called "PCU" where nut-job students randomly jump from one off-the-wall cause for protest to the next, with little rhyme or reason to their fanatical support/disputes...I am seeing some parallels here. You have now said that Hart Co. and Taylor Co. have similar talent to Boyle Co. and Russellville...that claim, my friend, takes some cajoles...

No...NKY outside of Highlands does not have a team that is within 21 points of X, T, Male, Bryan Station, or Manual. I also believe that Scott Co. and McCaracken would rout all of NKY too.

I have little doubt that Mayfield would or would come close to running clock'ing every team in 3A.

I think South has more to worry about when playing Central and Tilghman than they do a Belfry. Belfry, while skilled, is probably very similar to South (I haven't seen Belfry other than on Hudl highlights this year). They're physical, good up front, and possess nice, but not game-breaking speed. That's pretty much what South is. When South plays PT and Central they'll, for the first time this year, face real speed all over the field. That's the unknown of how they'll do against.

Greenwood is better defensively this year than they were last year and last year they made BG drive the ball to score each time. On offense, the Gators keep the ball on the ground and eat clock. The Gators have also shown themselves to be getting better as the year goes on as so often happens with Veer teams. Look for them to put up a solid fight against the Purples.

Herky-jerky game that lacked any real rhythm...credit Coach Wallace for dialing up some critical play calls to get the Purples in the endzone and for the players who executed them...Central played a clean and tough game and gave BG all they wanted.

No, but last year Mercer, one of those new 4A district teams, knocked Boyle out of the playoffs...

I think DeSales is the best team in 2A. I think if Caldwell can get to the championship game and gets good weather to play it in, then they have the capability to beat DeSales simply on their offensive ability. Beyond that, I don't think anyone else is is in the conversation.

I'm going to disagree...Collins loses the stiff competition from the East yet picks up John Hardin and Warren Central as regional and State-Semi games... I don't see them winning those games too often. Moreover, I know Collins big win against highlands infused quite a bit of optimism (as it should), but that was won on the back of two DI-A skill players and an absolutely lights-out QB all paired with a boat-load of third years starters. That kind of star power, paired with that kind of experience, paired with that weak a path to the one-hitter-quitter Final game, comes along once or twice in a program's lifetime. Collins just got their's early. ...but I've been wrong before...just ask my wife...

Manual BG St. X Those come to mind. All have played against top shelf competition and only X has had a real blunder of a game and that was against the State's No. 1 team Male.
