I agree that Jackson might struggle a little bit when they play out of their district, but I still would like to see them win two district championships in a row (I don't know if they have ever done that). I see them being up and down for a while, due to the fact that they lost Coach Lively and two of the best players in the region last year. But give them time and I'm sure they will be a darkhorse near the end of the season. :thumb:

Good job by the Tigers. Hopefully, they can win their district again this year and make it two in a row. I knew Davidson was a good player, but 37 on opening night is impressive. I can't wait to watch this kid play, he might be the most underrated player in the region.

I agree with you 100%. Stepp is a very talented player and has a bright future ahead of him, but I think he lost the game for them last year against Hazard. Experience should also help June Buchanan a lot this year when it comes tournament time.

South Laurel takes this one easily.

Jackson should win this one anywhere from 15 to 20 points.

How did JBS look? I know they are one of the favorites to win the 14th this year.

I'm glad the talent level is rising here in KY. I've seen some of those kids play that are mentioned on that list and I was impressed with everyone of them, especially Proffit from South Laurel and Miller from Mason County.

Since Powell is at home, I'll take them by about 10.

My rankings of the top five players would be: 1.)Hollan-Breathitt 2.)Davidson-Jackson City 3.)Smith-Breathitt 4.)Kilburn-Jackson City 5.)Evans-Wolfe

1.Breathitt-returns everybody, should be a good team this year 2.Jackson-lost some talent, but returns Davidson and I think one or two starters 3.Wolfe-lost everthing, the Wolves will struggle this year 4.Riverside-I would really like to see this team get better but the size of their school hurts their sports programs a lot

I see Breathitt winning their district this year, but with it might not be that easy considering their weak schedule this year. I'm pretty sure June Buchanan a few years ago played an easy regular season schedule then got blew out of the district when they were supposed to finish second (correct me if I'm mistaken). But Breathitt does play Jackson during the regular season who should be the second best team in that district and I'm pretty sure they play Wolfe as well, so they should know what to expect when it comes tournament time.

I think there should be a shot clock in high school. Like somebody said earlier it would reward good defense and keep teams from stalling the ball.

PCC and Hazard will be a fun game to watch especially after Hazard put PCC out of the district last year.

I think it will be close all game, but I think Breathitt will barely pull it out. I would like to see Jackson win, but they lost a lot last year with Howard and Fugate while Breathitt returns everybody.

It sounds like their should be some good games in it this year, hope I can go watch a few.

I agree, I was able to watch Corbin play some last year and they will be a team to watch over the next few years. I would still say South Laurel is the favorite right now, and Bell County would be second.

I see both teams winning a game each on their home floor, but I would still say Lee is slightly better. Coach Lively and Coach Wright are both great coaches, and it's going to be fun to watch both of these teams over the season.

I would have to put June Buchanan as the favorite with Hazard and Lee a close second and third. Cordia should also be a tough team as well as Buckhorn. Also don't count out Jackson City, they may surprise people again.

I know we have our opinions and from what time I've been a member of this website yours are always credible Flash, but I must disagree with you on this one. From what I saw and from what I heard from other people, the player Fugate shoved was saying some pretty vulgar things to him. To me, it looked like he tried to walk away and the player kept saying things to him and then Fugate said something back. Then the player got right up in his face and that's when Fugate shoved him. So I don't think he was trying to initiate a fight, just to get that player out of his face. I agree with you that he shouldn't have shoved him, but I think if you get any other player in the same situation, most would do the same thing.
