St. Patrick.........11-13...Won 9 of 12, This will be no slouch come Tourney time. 11. Silver Grove.......14-9...3 straight wins always helps to get back on track. 12. Augusta.............7-14...2 nice wins last week, they're gelling at the right time. 13. Bracken Co........12-12...3 straight district losses and then you draw Mason. They're falling apart. 14. Deming..............6-14....have lost 3 straight and 4 of 5. But a great draw in the District, the real season starts in two weeks. 15. Calvary Christian..8-14...They end their season this Saturday. They may need that extra preparation time if they want to get out of that District. 16. Nicholas Co.........2-18...Only 2 wins, but a Region birth is possible. 17. Paris.................3-16....Is this team going to win a game inside the 10th? :flame:

Having a weekly poll it is more of a "what have you done lately." So how can you use a first week of December loss (by one point I might add) to justify a spot in a poll that has the heading of 2/16? Not saying your wrong, just curious in your take on it.

NCC coming in w/ some momentum, and Brossart has lost 4 straight. Make that 5 straight, NCC wins 54-48.

Why would you feel sorry for Bracken? St. Pat beat Bracken 2 out of 3 times this season. And Augusta won 1 of 3 games against Bracken while all 3 games were decided by 6 points or less.

The boys tournament will switch off between Mason and Bracken year in and year out. This year it is at Bracken.

I agree that Deming should beat NC, but I wouldn't call it a lock. Remember two years ago when Augusta had a very, very good team and were an 18 point favorite they were considered a lock but your Devils pulled off the upset.

Bracken has named a coach but I can't think of his name right now. He has coached at Newport and NCC in his career and I believe he won a state title.

Indeed they are. Throughout the season they have had glimpses and flashes of good play but they have had trouble putting it together in a collectively and timely manner. But they look as if they are getting it together at the right time of year. Their schedule the rest of the season is favorable to possibly getting to double digits in wins if they can keep the momentum going with Paris, Rose Hill, and Heritage Academy remaining before the District. On a side note the 39th District draw will be Wednesday Feb. 15.

Looks like I was right, GRC is number 2 in the Region, and I look for them not to lose in the Fieldhouse at all this season. :sssh:

I may be a little biast but IMO this is the best rivalry in the 10th Region. Bracken came out hot and took an early 8-2 lead but it didn't last long. From that point on it was lead change after tie after lead change as Augusta led 32-30 at the half. The Panthers then took control at the start of the 3rd as the zone gave Bracken fits all night, they looked clueless against it. Augusta went up as many as 11 at 45-34 when Bracken went on an 11-2 run to end the quater. They quickly tied the game at the start of the 4th and from then on it was back and forth again. The game was tied at 58 when Levi Gallagher knocked down a 3 with about 8 seconds remaining. Jesse Hall quickley drived down the floor and was CLEANLY ripped by Steven Cummings but the official whistled Cummings for a foul and sent Hall to the line for two. Hall made the first making it 61-59 Augusta with 3 seconds left. He tried to intentionaly miss the 2nd shot but it banked in. Augusta quickly inbounded the ball and Josh White ran down the sideline untouched to run out the clock. Hopefully these two teams draw each other in the District Tourney, they have had three battles already this season. Bracken winning in Augusta 75-69, and defeating the Panthers 60-55 in Brooksville in the All A. Then tonight the Panthers ruining Bracken's Homecoming with the 61-60 win.
