Wow, What a game! I just want to say that I have really enjoyed watching the Lady Rams these past few years and I'd like to congratulate them on all their accomplishments!!! I have really enjoyed getting to coach some of these ladies and I will really miss them in the community. However, A wise coach from a school we won't discuss once told me that if winning the state championship is the best day of your life then you have lived a sad life. I believe that!! It wasn't in the cards for them last night, but man what a ride they have had. I remember like yesterday the Paige Porter shot with assist from Katelynd to beat Boyd Co. in the 2004 Region. I also remember the Paige Porter shot from the corner to beat West Carter and me jumping over the rail at the Palace. Whitney's take over just last week to beat the Devils in the District Championship, Tasha hitting all those elbow jumpers to send them to the Regionals last season. Kylie Fannin's cross court laser pass to take the lead on Russell last week, and Katelynd's lockdown D in the All A. I'm sure the pain is great right now, but life will move you to bigger and better things,and you girls have started a SOLID FOUNDATION for the Lady Rams for years to come. Thank you so much for the memories, and for representing our school, community, and alumni so well!!!

I wonder if it is the same name I'm hearing. By the way GoRadio did a nice job on the girls coverage of the 16th Regional Tourney last night. I wonder if this coach wants to be at Greenup Co., or does Greenup Co. want this particular coach.

Wow Big loss for Morgan Co. Coach Wood is a class act and a terrific coach. He really brought the Cougar program along way! IMO if it were not for Russell in the second round of 2004 the Cougars would have been playing at Belfry in the State Semi's!!

Rachel is a terrific basketball player and a TREMENDOUS PERSON. I hope and pray that my little Miss Blue Blazer turns into the type of kid that Rachel is!!! Lady Rams have had tremendous success this season and Rachel has been a major part of their success. Seniors what a job you did last night, I've coached many of y'all and I said it over the summer in V-Ball Camp that you guys had what it takes to go great places. Congrats enjoy the District Title! Also I would like to take time to thank Russell trainer Mark Hilburn, he went over and above the call of duty this week to take care of 2 Raceland athletes Tyler Boyles and Rachel Vanderhoof. That was very classy on his part, and IMO is the best in the business as an athletic trainer. Thanks for everything you do for kids. I appreciate the Saturday's you gave up to come in and take care of my brother and the assistance and genuine care that you showed our Raceland athletes.

Congrats to the Russell players and staff for focusing and getting the job done in a very difficult week. Good Luck to both Russell and Lewis Co. as they both go off to Morehead St. next week to represent the 63rd District. IMO the 63rd is probably one of the most competitive districts in the State. Russell lost the district finals last season and went to Rupp. Be careful 16th Region, 2 dangerous teams in the tourney!

Kasey has a big family being the youngest of five I'd say with nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters, brother in laws, sister in law, and grandparents, the Murray State season football ticket sales have just increased by about 15! Mr. and Mrs. Blue Blazer, Little Blue Blazer, and Little Miss Blue Blazer along with UKCATSFAN will be making the trip for sure every weekend!:ylsuper:

School has everything they need they are waiting on the FAFSA reports that are filled out to come back from the government to Murray, He told the coaches last night that He wanted to be at Murray and he liked the campus the situation they had to offer him football wise. He will be going down to Murray for 2 weeks to workout, watch film and get some conditioning in July. Then he will get to come home for about a week before Camp officially starts. Anyway I'm ready GO RACERS!!!!!!!!!!!:ylsuper:

I just confirmed with Kasey he will attend Murray State and he will be on the offensive side of the ball. They play the spread offense and he will be coming out of the backfield to run and catch. Congratulations to Kasey I'm so very proud of you! Go Racers, and remember you the man 24!!!!! P.S. I may be called the Blue Racer!!!:banana:

Maybe the all-time best post on BGP's shooterx3 you and Mrs. shooterx3 have done a wonderful job raising a terrific young man, and he is a pretty terrific basketball player as well. He has put on some great shows throughout his career his whole sophmore year Regionals WOW:eek: Evansville is getting the best in a player and person the are the true winners. Even the Blue Blazer will be shaded a little purple. Thanks for being the person and Christian example you truly are! Jonathan is in my thoughts and prayers! I would be honored if my own little 4 year old Blue Blazer turned out like Jonathan, as a person and player.

Best wishes for Jonathan Vanhoose, he is a tremendous kid and a tremendous player you hate to see anyone go down that way. The Vanhoose family is in our prayers, Tyler is doing much better he was kept overnight at KDMC the Boyles family is also in our prayers. These kids on both sides deserve alot of credit they represented their school and community with pride. They worked hard all season to have the opportunity to advance in Tournament play. We all need to remember it is about the KIDS not the refs, the radio, or even the fans. The coaches work hard to make these kids both better people and better players. Good Luck to Russell, and Ram Seniors Congratulations on your career you represented us former Ram Basketball players with honor and class.

Last night in the parking lot we stated that Russell got alot of offensive rebounds the on the radio we heard that Russell had 13 offensive rebounds. Russell is too talented a ball team to give them that many multiple shot possesions. I was really shocked last night watching the game. Wilcox hit 3 big 3's in the first half. He seemed to spark Ashland ,but they never could grab the lead and put pressure on Russell. Anyway it was a good high school game with a TREMENDOUS atmosphere. Both student sections get props for cheering hard, acting respectful, and giving the players and coaches of this game some very special memories. Ashland senior players will hurt a little while but your lives will move on to bigger and better things and you will always have that great memory of what the Anderson Gymnasium was like on your Senior Night. You got to play in one of the greatest atmospheres in high school basketball in the greatest basketball state in a program that has national prominence. WOW!!! Not to mention on T.V. ,there are guys playing in college who don't get that enviroment or T.V. coverage!

I was at the regional title games vs Rowan Co in the late 80's and last night was the best Russell crowd in my 30 years of life. {Little Miss Blue Blazer just fell over} I was at Rupp last year and last night was the best if you want go go pre 1984 I'll have to take your word for it but in the last 23 years I'll say the best Russell student section!

Nothing builds community more than High School football. The whole week of school leads up to the kickoff. They tailgaiting, pep rally's everyone is at the game. The battle of kids playing who love the game. It is pure for 48 minutes. You are successful whether you win or lose because you have survived the battle and grown up and matured because of it. You brave all the elements and play as hard as you can till you hear the whistle. You give it your all for the guys who have played before you and for the little JFL kids who adore you that want to grow up and be you!

Blue Blazer had no cable last night which also translated to no internet. I each crow this morning and say I was wrong I thought that Ashland would win but Russell got too many second chance points. Ashland never quit they kept battling back, but it wasn't enough. Russell's role players (which I mean that nicely I was a role player on a very good team) stepped up and made some big plays which swung the game in Russell's favor. Ashland's student section was it's usual and it was the best Russell student section in their school's history. Great crowd last night,and I really thought that the final score would have been reversed. Well I'll say it again I was wrong!

I talked to GIAT last night on the phone he had just met Billy Donovan at the Huntington High game he gave me his prediction. Bonner has a big night and so do the Tomcat students Ashland Student WIN Tomcats beat the Devils by 8! That's from GIAT

I'm sure you are right I just know if I had my pick for my own son I would not want him to play at UK for the way they have done Eastern Ky players in the past. Parker, Beach, etc.

Agree I hope it is at Papa John's I like Louisville as a city alot better than Lexington! And I agree Papa John's is alot nicer than Commondump I mean Commonwealth Stadium!

Okay you got Russell by 10 and I'll rework my prediction and take Ashland by 10 and I think that the Ashland student section survives the contest! And my last prediction is that when it is all said and done after the Tomcat sweep GIAT:banana: :banana: all night long like Lionel Richey!!!!!!!

I'll be first to say Ashland takes the $250.00 dollars for the student section then they go on to beat the Devils on the court. Ashland ruined Russell's senior night last season with too much McDavid at the buzzer this year they hold court! Ashland 71 Russell 59 By the way I miss GIAT!!!!!
