The thing that really sticks out from the stats above is the 3rd down conversion %. We have struggled all year converting on 3rd down.

I absolutely agree. But endless comments about Dicky Martin are also much ado about nothing, especially when no one should be surprised at anything he says by now. :lol: A true genius of a broadcaster and someone who means a lot to me. :thumb:

OK, let me rephrase. If Ashland assistant freshman coach Dustin Stakely was the assigning secretary Ashland fans would NEVER HEAR THE END OF IT. Is that better?

Ryan Bonner was definitely a bright spot last night. He FINALLY was involved in Ashland's passing game. We will need big plays from him down the stretch! It was also nice to see Jeremy Nethercut back and contributing!

Ahh who cares if it was a flop, it was a smart play regardless. I'll take that kind of heads up play from a sophomore anyday. Players and teams have been doing that for ages and will continue to do that for ages. If Russell fans were in the same situation they would have been glad one of their players was smart enough to realize the situation and go down to stop the clock. Carter's toughness, skills, and desire to win are impressive for such a young kid. With the original O-line hopefull healthy next week maybe he can spring for another 200+ yards.

I was excited to see the Tomcats show some signs of life. They looked excited to play and it showed in their performance. Matt Thomas, Ryan Bonner, and Rashard Carter were all over the field on both sides of the ball. Ashland should have some more members of the O-line back next week. 3 out of 5 were still out tonight. Hopefully that will help things turn around. I was also disappointed with the turnout by the Ashland fans. I believe that if you go to all the games when you have a "good" team then it is your duty to support your team through tough times. For better or worse, in sickness and in health. There is nothing worse than a fair weather fan. I left this game tonight feeling proud of the performance by my Tomcats, win or lose.

:ylsuper: :thumb: I have the upmost respect for Coach Hamilton. He is ALL about the kids. He has a passion and tremendous gift to get the most from his players. I wish him the best. I know with coaching baseball he has been a big help to me personally over the last 3 years!

Good luck Coach H! A quality man and a terrific coach! I always enjoyed meals at the Cocoa Expo whenI got the chance to pick his brain and get better at baseball the man knows his stuff and better yet the kids respond. He has been very helpful to our team and staff I wish him nothing but the best in probably a difficult situation!

Wheelersburg usually has a very good, physical team. This one is a toss up. Where is it being played?

Last night I had the priviledge to attend the Raceland vs. Bath Co. Volleyball Match. Raceland won the match 25-10, 25-16. I went to support a coaching friend of mine from Raceland. I was there to show support to him for the Alli LeMaster game, a girl from Raceland who was supposed to be on this team, but was in a tragic boating accident last May that took her life. Kids today many times get bad raps for being self absorbed, spoiled, and in general over protected. However as I was visiting with him after the match his senior hitter Paige Vanhoose who was named player of the game and given a nice trophy came up to him wanting to give back her trophy. She stated the team won the award. Paige went through the crowd and found Alli's mom and presented her with the trophy and embraced her with a big hug and tears began to flow. I thought WOW!! There is a kid that sees the greater and is selfless. What a great display of Team and Self to sacrifice personal glorification for the good of others. This is what sports is supposed to build. CHARACTER!! Nice job Lady Rams and Paige Vanhoose!!!!!
