Am I correct in thinking that if Skaggs plays any varisty ball for Russell this season he must sit out next year if he were to transfer??? Isnt that the rule in football....? Enlighten me....

I know nothing about Rock Hill's team this season. I believe Ashland beat them at Rock Hill last season by 18 or so. It's exciting to get the season underway! Ashland 74 Rock Hill 60

Thanks for bringing it up. It will now be called the Commonwealth Bourbon Bowl Playoffs sponsored by Jim Beam, and all first downs will be Makers Mark, with a game ball from Red Man.

Ashland/Montgomery Co. Scrimmage

Those are the ones I figured would get a majority of the minutes. JD Adams has grown quite a bit since last season, he may be around 6'3 or 6'4. Chris Johnson should turn into a very good player, but he needs to get stonger. -

Mason County/Rose Hill Scrimmage
Blue Blazer replied to mhighfield's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
So SpinDoc are you saying that Mason Co. should live up to their #1 ranking? Rose Hill should benefit in a major way from playing Mason Co. They can expose weaknesses and should be contending in Rupp this season. Rose Hill has a solid chance to get to Rupp Arena also. They are good! They are not on Mason Co.'s level.......YET,but they can contend with ANYONE in the 16th. -
I had a masters class this summer with Coach Tackett from Belfry, he is a class act and a super representive of the school, community, and program. I making the drive to the game and I'll wear the Belfry shirt he gave me this summer. Show them Angry Red!!!!!

I was talking last night to a friend from Greenup Co. and I told him that the Greenup Co. district will produce some of the most fierce rivalries on this side of the state. All schools are close in proximity, and they are all about the same level right now. I think it will be a matter of who works harder and earns some breaks. This district will have some very good football in the future, and I believe that they showed that this year. -
This will be interesting!

Agree if the Devils convert the 4th and 6 and stick it in the endzone, it would have sealed the deal. Coach McGlone may have wanted to go for the jugular! He also thought his defense wouldn't give up an 80 yard drive either. LCRW I think I'm actually agreeing with you. You could lose some friends on here if you agree back so I understand if you don't! -

Nice job by Coach Sammons and the staff at Greenup Co. You guys kept on coaching you didn't quit on your kids when the going was bad and you got it rolling and they believed and you had a tremendous run. This should go along way in building a program back up. -

Like I said 37 yards in the cold with a frosty field is not a gimme! -

I believe he is talking about the drive that turned over on downs when the score was 17-13 Russell then Breathitt drove for the winning score at the 2 minute mark! -

37 yard in the cold, and the grass was frosty, it would have been a long shot. IMO I thought it was the right call given the situation. I wonder why the DB's gave so much of a cushion all night to the Bobcats recievers! -
Good win for LCA, Thanks I was about over it from last week and now I believe I may toss up my turkey. Good Luck next week vs. Hazard watch out for the Duke Boys, and don't get double crossed by Boss Hogg! Coach Rains and the Eagles have built a nice program, and have alot to be proud of! Now take it to the carpet! We are pulling for you here in Ramland!

Congrats to the Bobcats. It was a fun game to watch. Russell played tough and had a chance to close them out and the Bobcats refused to give up. It seems as though Russell just couldn't make a big defensive play on the pass when they needed one. You have to take your hats off to Coach McGlone and staff they have lost some terrific players the past 4 years and the still keep winning and competing with anyone in the state. Congratulations Devils on a super year! -
