If there is one thing I know its history. If you notice I NEVER asked anyone if Ashland Blazer or Ashland High School ever won a state title, or the years they won. Those are things I definitely know. I simply asked about other schools. Are things clear now??

Thanks for your slanted history lesson. :thumb: I was pretty sure that no one other than Ashland in the 16th had ever won a state title, with the exception of Clark Co.

But seriously, has anyone from the 16th other than Ashland Blazer ever won a state championship?

To begin with we werent talking about winning state championships. So your comments are completely off base with the current discussion. Kingfish brought up the idea of making an "impression" in the sweet 16. That is why I posted what I posted. I do not live in a glass house, nor do I pretend to. I would ask that in the future you make sure you understand what we are talking about before making your opinion known. :thumb:

Hmmm let me see. Would I rather my team be highly regarded in the state nationally and then exit the sweet 16 in the 2nd round. Which by the way preceeded the mass exodus at RH. Or be huge underdog, upset the 24th ranked team in the nation (Paducah Tilghman) in the first round on an unbelievable run to the state finals. Tell me any other team or school for that matter in the 16th that has come REMOTELY close to sniffing Saturday in the last 10 or 15 years, much less make it to the state finals. Honestly has any other school in the 16th won the sweet 16? I dont know.....

Ashland's '96 team was state runner-up, I know that was 11 years ago. And Ashland's '01 team also lost in the 2nd round, and last years Elliott team lost in the 2nd round. I would say those teams made equal impressions as RH did in '03.

Rams will be focused and ready. I like our chances at home and with Denton and Carver this time around vs. Fairview I think the Rams get it done. The atmosphere will be electric at Ram Stadium and a big crowd for the team to feed off.

Congratulations to West Carter! I forgot to add that in my previous post. Many of you have eluded to a Russell hangover. No excuses the West team just outplayed us tonight. No if ands or buts about it. Raceland made some big plays and was in a position to win the ballgame. West took advantage of the opportunities which is the sign of a good team. Coach Hoof and the staff will get to work and they will be ready for an extremely tough Fairview team next week. Rams need to look forward because I now have my winter clothes out and I want to use a ton of them every Friday night until December 7th. Week 11 finally felt like football weather.

Well, I'm just getting back, WOW!!! A good HS football game. West Carter made the plays to win. They deserved the the victory. JS Carver 21 rushes for 141. Rams played hard, not extremely well, but they played hard. Coach Brown has done a nice job with the Comet Football program. Coach Brown did say some nice things about Coach Hoof and he was correct. I was one of the fortunate individuals who has had played for and coached with Hoof. He has been a tremendous influence in my life. Rams don't panic the mistakes are correctable and with a week of hard work and intense practice a little focus you will be ready to go 1-0 next week in the real season. Remember 10 scrimmages down, 5 games to go. Respect your opponents and remember you are never as good as you think you are and you are not as bad as you think are. I'm sure you can accomplish your goals. Lets work hard and get ready for the View in are house next week.

Hard to get a true rating of the coaches with all the new coaches in the region. Scott Floyd- Raceland Jim Hicks- Bath Co. Menifee Co. ?? Chad Leach-Greenup Co. Roger Zornes (part 2 )-Boyd Co. All these coaching changes kind of skew the ratings. Biggs, Dodd, Mays, Daniel, Perry, Maybe we start with this list?

I'm not arguing or discussing the quality of kids or athletes, I believe that Rose Hill should have an excellent season. I don't believe that they are a school of christians entirely. I just personally feel like they have some people in adminstration that don't handle conflict the right way. For Instance the Freshman AIT they brought their varsity kids(which I have no problem with) they played them and got to the championship only to have to forfeit because of the consecutive night rule with the KHSAA. The AD should have known the situation. A certain boys coach that challenges people to fights, Jed believe it or not I was there and it did happen. Coach Fraley has been lucky to inherit some great young talent, but Cubster let's not sail his ship to the promise land yet until they reach the 16th Region Tourney or the All A state. And with Ashland, Fairview, and Boyd Co. they may not go to the Region this year.
