Greenup co. continues to get beat badly. It is a sad sad situation for the Muskies down in Lloyd this season. Kids continue to suffer because of the lack of support from some of the adminstrators and parents.

Thanks spindoc, I feel the same way about Coach Morris, he will be missed greatly in our community and school for the next year!

Great night at The Palace. Huge crowd for the Rams. Rams played inspired basketball and got a huge win. I would like to give a special thanks to Raceland teacher and golf coach Wendall Morris who will be leaving this week to serve our country in the Middle East. they announced him at the game and he recieved a standing ovation from both the Raceland and Ashland fans. Thanks Tomcat fans this was very classy. Coach Morris will be serving and missing his only son's graduation this year. Our prayers and thoughts will be with him. Cody Barker was the difference tonight as the Tomcats had no answer for his inside play. Way to go Rams! Lets keep it rolling into the 63rd District Tourney!!!!

The only time they beat him was with OJ and Bill. Look at his record vs. RH in 14 years and post OJ, I think you'd be surprised!

Nice win for Lewis Co. The Russell basketball woes continue. The nice thing about basketball season if your not a class A school is the season is really only one game. IF Russell improves with the right draw.....(Greenup Co.) they may have a ticket to the region in Morehead! I'd say Dodd and the Russell boy's are glad they don't seed.

Go Bath Go! I wonder if Coach Hicks will consult a recently retired Raceland coach who has owned the Royals the past 2 seasons in tournament play? (Derby Classic 2005 and All A 2007) I hope Bath has the firepower to duplicate its performance from earlier this season.

Let the stats guy/girl keep unofficial bench stats and a coach stat from the game tape. Good help is hard to find. School records broken should be accompanied by video evidence to avoid inconsistancies with rule interpretation. Assists, turnovers, and shots at the buzzer that don't go in are common foul-ups.

Russell last season had it going to the Regional Semi's before Elliott Co. knocked them off enroute to the Sweet Sixteen elite 8. Russell was minus D1 guard Jonathan VanHoose with a torn ACL in districts.

:thumb::banana::dancingpa I loved playing at Elliott Co. in high school. I always loved the atmosphere, and passion. You may not remember the "shoe" game in 1993 with Raceland. We always had hard fought spirited games. This Elliott Co. team is a GREAT representation of 16th Region basketball at its finest! I also want to comment on how polite the Elliott Co. players are. Both Faulkners and Ferguson make it a point to speak to me every time they see me. They represent Sandy Hook with class and character.

I think this game maybe the best game played in the 16th region so far this year. Great Talent, Good Coaching, Loyal Supporters, and a tournament atmosphere, this game should be on ESPN's Big Monday!

Should be an excellent game. IMO Rose Hill has an advantage with Euton inside. However Elliott Co.'s 3 guards of the Faulkner's and Ferguson are a big advantage. Chad Jackson is real good, but I think these 3 combined are better overall guard play than Rose Hill's guards. Jackson could be the best player on the floor, but Elliott may have the best team 1-5. Nevertheless I believe this will be a great game worth the price of 5 dollars. I just wish it was closer to watch than Bath Co.

Bad loss for Russell! Fleming was one of their 2 wins this season. Russell drops to 2-15 on the season.

Bobby Knight is fiery and funny, if you have ever heard him speak he keeps you in stitches. The man is smart and has a ton of personality, I have enjoyed listening to his stories very very good with people. He does put on some great shows.

I have to disagree, personality goes along way in motivating kids to play hard and smoothing out abrasive situations that can be detrimental to the team. Most players enjoy being coached by a person with great personality. I have seen people with great personality far outachieve an x and o guy with no personality because of motivation. IMO look at Tubby and Billy G it seems as though Tubby got more out of this team now because he is a better player's coach. More positive, better motivator,and IMO better person in which kids wanted to play better for Tubby than Billy G. It is hurting UK now and it may be hurting Russell.

IMO Russell has too many athletes walking the halls to be 2-14. Someone needs to get these kids on the floor, and we aren't having this discussion.

I believe that this is the community divide issue that FBall is talking about. The winning the past 2 years has put issues on the back burner, the 2-14 season is setting off the smoke alarm. Dodd can coach no doubt. He was 37 games over .500 going into this season, he knows basketball. Even Ivan has had bad or mediocre seasons. It happens to everyone, it just seems like Dodd must get(staff) or become a better people person or a recruiter to get some athletes out on the court!

I never give Rose Hill credit. I have been known to be a "Rose Hill hater", but tonight I will say nice win for the Royals. They are starting to mature and Coach Fraley has them tournament tested with a tough tough schedule. They should be a force this weekend in the All A. Congrats Royals. There I said it and maybe some of y'all from the Hill will get me off your hate list!

Sutton was interviewed and so was Smith. Floyd was considered, but took the Raceland job. We are glad he did as well. Why would Fraley leave the program that he rebuilt with 2 of the best players in the region to jump into such a mess?

16th has several Kenny Clark, Tom Sparks, Dave Anderson, Steve Greenhill though is probably the best but we have several decent officials that call the game consistent and fair both ways!

Rose Hill has played the strongest schedule in the 16th(IMO) which will make them very tournament ready.
