  1. Somewhere between 20-35 points, with little doubt in my mind.
  2. I could have told you watching LexCath before the game that it would be close. It was very obvious that both teams didn't have much depth. Botkin can shoot and Sanford can sure finish, but what's new. Maile was a monster. CovCath has had problems with LexCath's press for years now. Good game to start out the year for both teams.
  3. I, for one, am shocked.
  4. I am fairly confident that UK and UL would not.
  5. That's a lot of Inman's. What's the deal? The Bluebirds like beating the Colonels.
  6. Went to CovCath's practice yesterday, should be interesting to see how things translate during the season
  7. How was it not? No one close to CovCath football was surprised or shocked. His intentions were known to everyone throughout the whole thing.
  8. Teaches football or teaches class? Rodenburg knew what the next year would turn out like, and it was not going to put him in a position to get his "dream job" at Moeller. Like Rodenburg or not, he was a stand-up guy. He made it very clear while he was at CovCath that he cared little for "CovCath football". He cared about his players (and getting them to play at the next level), winning, and his future. Whether you like that approach or not, he was honest about it.
  9. I wish they went for Wolfe or Dave Wirth.
  10. The recent events that transpired in the locker room, with minimal punishment from the administration, are reason enough for me to want Brossart AND Rowe OUT. As a former student with a sibling at the school and another sibling who will be a CCH football player, it's disturbing and scary.
  11. Coach Faust of St. Henry is always very nice and his players seem to enjoy playing for him.
  12. Here is my two cents: I think it is bad to keep 11 players in one class on varsity simply because it gives the other classes no varsity experience, and therefore hurts the program. Then again, if you consistently only play seniors, then by the time the next class gets to that level, they have played together for years already, which can help as well.
  13. I have no idea of the stats, but I'd imagine that 23 yds/completion would be pretty high.
  14. How does Highlands have 80% of the votes in the game thread to beat Ashland, but Ashland has 70% of the votes to win state?
  15. Ironically, VanSant is the answer to all 5 of the questions he asked. In many ways, he is the defense. Ironically as well, when JC played CCH in 2006, they passed 3 times for 2 TD's. But I agree that your idea would be the best strategy.
  16. I'm scared to vote anyone other than Highlands.
  17. CCH v JC should be good, a rematch of a few years ago.
  18. Highlands is hardly smash mouth. They sure run a lot, but speed-based.
  19. Holmes normally crushes teams who don't man up on the offensive boards. It all depends on the personnel and circumstances. It is the responsibility of the coach to not be too stubborn and to learn to adjust.
  20. Then you need to talk directly to Luke. Because that's not true.
  21. Thanks. Since I tore my ACL the day of the 2006 game against JC, I never got to go. I may make the trip this year. Friday at 7:30, right? I want to see my Colonels win, but I also want to hear the "touchdown GOLDEN EAGLES" call in person.
  22. It probably has to do with the schedules that the two teams have played. JC has played no one, at least compared to CCH. It should be a fun one. How far is JC from Lexington?
  23. I just don't see it happening. Coach L loves that "Listerman defense" and having three bigger, slower guys on the court at the same time just won't cut it for him. Heck, last year it was difficult for the 1 big man, Noll, to get on the court, let alone a couple. As for on offense, I can't remember the last time that the offense revolved around the big man. The offense with Brennan was Tierney driving and dishing to Bo and TJ on the wings.
  24. The very fact that you all bring up CovCath and Highlands in a thread about Bellevue's coach is the EXACT reason why Ernst and his employer find it more appropriate to report about CovCath and Highlands more than others. For a variety of reasons, the interest simply isn't there about the smaller schools.
  25. Surprisingly, I have no agenda. I am not connected with CovCath football anymore. I never played, all of my friends graduated, and none of my siblings currently play football. I only speak from what I have heard.
