Toughest district in the 9th.

By far.

By far.

HC has been kept out of the regionals the past two years because of this district when in any other they would have made it.

MOST years they would make it in all of the districts up here in nky but I think year in and year out the 33rd and 36th would be tough for them with Newcath and Highlands.

How many seniors are on Cov Cath's team?

How many teams have won 3-peated in the 9th? CCH in the late 60's. Did Highlands do it with Smith & Lorenzen?

Those were some great CC teams. CC has total of 8 regional titles and Holmes has 18. Tell me who has the better tradition?

That's an interesting question that you pose. Obviously Holmes has had more success in the past; however, how many of Holmes' players are aware of the tradition that they represent each time they take the floor?

I think they are fully aware of the tradition....especially since they see the all those banners in the gym every day.:thumb:

Holmes won three in a row and 4 out of 5 in the late 70's...early 80's. They won the region in 1976,1977, 1978(state finalist), and 1980(state semi-finalist).

Holmes has won 3 out of 4 (05,07,08) and if they win this year will make it a 3 peat and 4 out of 5.

Don't be surprised if by the end of the Johnson brothers' senior year, they have won 4 in a row and 5 out of 6. That would be quite a stretch. They could be making history over the next two years with this group.

Last team to 3 peat was Highlands from 97-00.

Went to CovCath's practice yesterday, should be interesting to see how things translate during the season

I agree. I went to their scrimmage against Central today and honestly they weren't very impressive. If they want to be successful this year, they had better realize they need to get the ball inside. Isler was VERY impressive today while the guards were so so.

They are going to struggle against teams who have a good press. After seeing them today and Holmes, I'd have to say Covcath is no where near the same level of Holmes and will be fighting it out with Beechwood and Holy Cross for the 2 seed.

Nice :D
