Covington Catholic at Beechwood Updates
Nice play by Isler on that completion to Van Sant. Who is #28 for CCH?

Covington Catholic at Beechwood Updates
Exactly. I expected a dinky shovel pass on 3rd & Long as Bratkowski would call, but instead we got a screen pass, without blocking, for a loss

o-Line Size
Unrelated- but I'd take O-line speed over O-line size any day of the week- see this past weekend for my Colonels

Coupled with what Birdsfan says, and the general attitude that a decent sized portion of CCH students have towards education, athletics, CCH spirit, spirituality, and life in general, it is making me feel so.

Every CovCath alumni always says "it was SO much better when I was there" but I am ashamed right now. Between what BF said about the CovCath student section, reports I have heard from students, and the state of some athletic programs, this is pitiful and embarrassing. I remember a few years ago (particularly in 2004, right around when the basketball team went to Rupp) I was so incredibly proud to tell people that I went to CovCath. I don't know what happened.

Highlands vs. Covington Catholic - Predictions
I don't want to throw this thread off topic or get you into a tizzy (which I may have already done). If you buy a ticket but have to get there early anyways, then what is the point of buying a ticket? You may as well just get there early, and hopefully you get in, instead of a buying a pre-sale ticket that says you still have to get there before everyone else. Does Highlands refund all unused pre-sale tickets?

I don't. If that's the case, then they just shouldn't sell pre-sale tickets.

Prayers for CovCath Matty Klein
After some initial concerns with Kelly's NK cell count, they have gotten the go ahead to do the surgery, which is scheduled for October 1st. Keep the prayers coming

Highlands vs. Covington Catholic - Predictions
Problem is, Highlands shouldn't sell more tickets than the fire marshal would allow people. If it's true that you can left out even though you have ticket for entry to the game, then that is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard.

Illness/gall bladder problems. He will be ready for the start of the season.

You write the funny caption #4

Covington Catholic 2008/2009
Avoid sickness. Matty Klein's unfortunate situation, as well as Mitch Shover (who had/is having surgery this week and has lost ~10-15 pounds) has put this team in a rough situation to start. They also need to develop some type of post scoring for this year. Isler and Counts are physical and can rebound, but shorter and not as polished as Wellbrock and Thelen, who are big and good scorers, but inexperienced, and who knows if they crack the lineup.

 Except for a 35-1 final score. FWIW, ColonelBlue-28, I thought it was hilarious

:thumb: I know. Just never thought I'd see the day that Hornsby went with young. :p:p

Best Young/New Coach in NKY
I love Rick Hornsby, but he doesn't exactly classify as "young"

Trinity = KY Football King
Unfortunately, I just think that T, X, and Highlands are heads and shoulders above the rest. Every once in a while some teams (Male, Manual, CovCath, LexCath, or a few others) get to be that competitive, but KY is just top heavy. You may be right about Southern Ohio, but Cincy isn't the only dominant Ohio football area, their top teams reign from their multiple metropolitan area.

Does your school kick the PAT or go for 2?
CovCath's kickers have been excellent weapons for a few years now

Prayers for CovCath Matty Klein
Transplant is going to happen within the next two weeks.

Prayers for CovCath Matty Klein
From what I understand they have found a matching donor in Matty's sister (I believe her name is Kelly)! Here is the last update that I got as well: We have some definitive news on Matt. They have a diagnosis but is is a "condition" unique to him and not a "disease" with a name. At the risk of a little too much detail, he has a white cell aplasia caused by cytotoxic t cells related to an auto immune problem - likely due to a strange confluence of auto immune disease in my family. So they don't think the white cells can come back on their own although they are still giving him some of the growth factor stuff they typically give to immuno-supressed patients that have had chemo. It's a really long way to say we hope and pray that one of our kids is a match for a transplant. Over the next few days they will get the immunology folks together with hematology and BMT to firm up the plan but things are definitely headed in that direction.....if there is a match. I think they are saying a transplant would be a cure and the alternative suppresive therapy would be a long term way to treat the symptoms that would be OK for an old geezer but not as good as a transplant for a child. Apparently they have the transplant procedure figured out pretty well.

Kids like him are what make CovCath special some years- not just because he is a great athlete, but also because Boone County has no Catholic High School that plays football!
