Top 5 Games this Friday

Featured Replies

There are quite a few really good matchups this Friday, including some with two teams ranked in the top 10 in their respective classes facing off. I think it is tough to get down to 5, but which 5 games Friday are your top 5 matchups - top ranked teams in a game you truly expect to go down to the wire?

Here are my top 5 best games to watch this Friday:

John Hardin vs. Oldham Co.

Boone County vs Henry Clay

Prestonsburg vs Middlesboro

Bowling Green vs Owensboro

Danville vs Green County

I would add Raceland vs Fairview, Russell vs Belfry and Corbin vs Bath County in there.

I would have to vote for Madison Central @ Male to be in the top 5 somewhere.

CCH v JC should be good, a rematch of a few years ago.

I considered all those liasted above and they could turn into close games. However, if Raceland, Belfry, Corbin or LCA lose I will be surprised and each of those likely will end up 2 TD wins for the team I listed. E-Town/N. Oldham was #6 on my list. Madison/Male and JC/CCH look like tight ones but a high loss team is in each of those games so I didn't include them in my top 5. I do think all those listed so far are some of the many good matchups across the state. A lot of good football games being played this Friday.

Not too many games any better at any time of the year than Christian County and Hopkinsville. There are going to be some serious athletes running around that stadium this Friday night...

Conner vs. Simon Kenton will be a huge game. Local rivals that met earlier this year in which Conner won in comeback fashion in last minute of game.

I think the Johnson Central vs CovCath Game could be a great one to watch.

VOR those 5 are pretty good yes indeed. I would probably also pick what I think might be the upset special for Friday and that is Hoptown over Christian Co.

Now before anyone goes nuts just for the pure fact that they play where it is a home game for both teams and that CC is ranked #2 and Hoptown not at all. CC should win but I would not be surprised if Hoptown won. That is why I picked it as my upset of the week.

I think the LCA Williamsburg game should be a very good one.

I agree, Hoptown does have a good chance of pulling off the upset.

The rankings a a bit suspect, Hoptown was ranked #9 after beating Mercer Co at Mercer, then won their last 3 games and fell out of the rankings...

County's ranking is accurate IMO. They've has some very good wins this year including, Owensboro at Owensboro, Henderson, Hoptown previously, and Tilghman (before Tilghman fell apart).

CCH v JC should be good, a rematch of a few years ago.
