  1. Great kid with a big upside. The Whitman kids have been raised right and have their academic priorities in order. Jack is drawing a lot of interest from a lot of schools. I kind of see him as fitting in well at Vandy in the mold of a Dan Langhi.
  2. Henry Clay has a wealth of young talent on this ballclub.
  3. The worst announcer ever does the Lafayette football games and the UK football games. His voice is annoying and his presentation, "first down Lafayette/Kentucky" is even more bothersome.
  4. Paul Hornung Shawn Alexander Mark Higgs Al Baker Derek Homer Chris Jones Joe Casey Sonny Collins Someone else is going to have to narrow it down as to the "BEST".
  5. One thing is probable. Trinity is not going to lose this season. That will make it tough for the Rocks to ever drop in the national polls top spot.
  6. I don't think Scott County will see "good competition" in the playoffs because there is not "good competition" in Kentucky 6A this season. Obviously, it looks like everyone in 6A is playing for the runner up trophy again this season. I have not seen Manual and Butler, but there does not seem to be good teams in 6A this season.
  7. This is not the typical Scott County team I have seen over the last ten or so years. Coach McKee actually is playing so good defense over in Georgetown this season. That has not always been the case.
  8. This top ten must be for a different sport....not Boy's Basketball. Maybe it is for a different year.....not 2011-12.
  9. I love to see kids prove their speed by participating in track. So many kids claim to be 4.4 but will not run track so as not to be exposed. This kid backs it up (200 meter state champion). Big time prospect.....one of the brightest Kentucky stars in sometime.
  10. I agree as well. Kentucky kids grow up watching SEC sports and many of those who are unable to go to UK often choose another SEC school that they grew up watching. Not many Kentucky kids watch the Horizon Conference basketball so Butler was at a disadvantage in that way.
  11. Where did this process breakdown? This is either laughable or embarrassing or both for Fayette County. It just isn't this difficult.
  12. Congratulations to Donovan Kates. I hope he can handle the culture shock of going from Hop Town to the Big Apple. And too the responsibility of playing for my least favorite Wildcat of all-time.....Steve Masiello.
  13. I can't imagine the Nicholas County boys basketball job being open and someone not contacting their native son, Daniel Brown of Henry Clay, about the job. I have no clue if Daniel Brown has any interest in returning to his alma mater.
  14. This would have to be Mike Mendenhall, Jr., right? Wasn't he recently an assistant at Lafayette?
  15. This has been going on for some time in Lexington.
  16. I have been told its Tennessee. Not a take it to the bank source. Does everyone on here think Zeke Pike will be playing quarterback through his college career? I have not seen him play or at camps.
  17. The Dutton twins have given up football. They are not on the spring practice roster.
  18. Anthony Hickey deserved Mr. Basketball, in my opinion. I did not see a better player in the sense of what he provided to help his team win during the entire season. It obviously worked for Christian County. Congratulations!
  19. Just getting out of that 7th Region for a trip to the Sweet 16 versus the likes of Ballard and Jeffersontown speaks for how strong a team Eastern had this season. I thought they were very good and also were well coached. Their coach showed a lot of class after Eastern was defeated by Christian County. I like to see that in this day and age because it is not necessarily the norm.
  20. As good as Dicky Beal was at Covington Holmes, I might take offense to your statement that he was a better player than Anthony Hickey. Anthony Hickey played for a good but not great Christian County team and won "willed" his team to a state championship. That guy gets my better player vote.
  21. He is one of the most dominating players I have ever seen in the Sweet 16. That goes back some 40 years. It is refreshing to me that the best players from the last two Sweet 16s were sub 6 foot guards. Elisha Justice had an outstanding championship run in 2010. Anthony Hickey is a below average shooter, but it makes no difference. If he is on your team, you are going to win! It is as simple as that. I do not know all the particulars about him, but if I was a college coach and wanted to get a leader who has the will to win, I offer Anthony Hickey now, and live with his sub par size and shooting later. Their are a lot of college coaches missing the boat on this kid.
  22. This is one of the most amazing stat lines I have seen. One turnover against that Louisville Eastern team? WOW!
