Christian County High School standout Donovan Kates, a second-team All-State selection as a senior, has signed with Manhattan College.

The 6-5 Kates is the first signee for new Manhattan coach Steve Masiello, a former Louisville assistant. He picked the Jaspers over Tennessee-Martin.

Congratulations to Donovan Kates.

I hope he can handle the culture shock of going from Hop Town to the Big Apple.

And too the responsibility of playing for my least favorite Wildcat of all-time.....Steve Masiello.
