Watusi Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 The 3A Pirates travel to the big city to take on the 6A Blue Devils. Does Belfry have a shot in this one?
gold sunrise Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 (edited) I think they do. HC is not as powerful as in years past. But, they have started out the season 0-2. You better believe they are hungry for a win.... Edited August 28, 2011 by gold sunrise
Watusi Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Is Vinny Miller back for Henry Clay? What was the nature of his injury?

Watusi Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I may be wrong but I thought I read in the preseason that he was injured. Is that not accurate?
Watusi Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I went back and did some research, according to the Herald Leader, Miller hans't played in their first two games because of what Coach Simpson termed "personal reasons". That is good enough for me, no need to dig into that. Has anyone seen either of Henry Clay's first two games? Their record is deceiving, they have lost to two of the best teams in Kentucky.
Watusi Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I'm not really into moral victories, but... Realistically, Henry Clay should beat the Pirates easily. 6A powers should do that to 3A powers. So How close does Belfry need to keep the score in this one in order to not walk away disappointed?

That is good enough for me, no need to dig into that. That's what I've heard as well, 2C. But all indications are that Miller isn't play yet so who knows when he will. His presence could be a huge factor in this game. Without him, Belfry might win. With him, I'd say Henry Clay wins comfortably.
Watusi Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 By all accounts, Miller is an exceptional talent. Its a shame that he is in the situation where he isn't playing. Hope he gets the issues worked out, whatever they may be, so that he can get back on the field. I know Belfry's chances are better if he doesn't play, but win or lose, as a high school football fan, I'd rather play HC with Miller suited up.
