Henry Clay rallies from 19 down to beat Moore

When Henry Clay trailed Moore 59-40 late in the third quarter in the Republic Bank Holiday Classic Wednesday night, Blue Devils Coach Daniel Brown didn't change his strategy or his lineup.

The young Devils, playing their most inspired basketball of the season, rallied with a 26-5 run to take the lead, and they went on to beat Moore 77-73 in the tournament quarterfinals.

Good for them. Seems like they have been battling the desire to go one on one all year. Hopefully they learned they can defeat most teams in the state when they play as a team. I hope to see them sometime this year.

Henry Clay has a wealth of young talent on this ballclub.

The biggest thing i saw in the game was that Moore had Henry Clay down 59-40 with 2:30 left in the 3Q. The Moore coach brought in 5 subs and Henry Clay cut the lead to 7 or 8 before he could get his starters back in with 30 seconds to go in the quarter. Once it got that close, Henry Clay played inspired and was able to come out on top. I thought those 2 minutes was the difference in the game.
