Scott County 41 Bryan Station 13

Featured Replies

This was a very physical match up because it was probably for the district title. Game was stopped four times for injuried Bryan Station players to be helped off the field. One was taken off in an abulance but was released from the ER with no significant injuries. Bryan Station is a good team.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the first team above 500 that Scott County has beaten.

They close the season with Dunbar who is abysmal and Simon Kenton who is only slightly better so will likely finish undefeated.

No disrespect intended but I'm still not sold on Scott County. They have to prove something in the playoffs against good competition.

Can't change your schedule in-season just because you see future opponent losing games. Most of you from Louisville aren't going to be "sold on Scot County" until you see them play in-person and/or they beat one of your better teams. This is still a dream season for the Scott County seniors. Their fans are sold. The teams we've played are sold, and Scott County will go deep into the tournament.

Personally I hope you make it very deep into the playoffs.

Thanks. Me too.

Jim Mckee can flat out coach..He has done a great job at Scott Co. I am glad to see Scott co. doing well.

Agreed, and this group of seniors and juniors can flat out play. Expect to see 5 or 6 of the seniors playing college ball next year.

I think McKee new he had a son comming up and made the schedual according to that to be honest. Webster County, please

You obviously do not know Coach McKee. He makes every decision based on what's best for the team, and I mean every decision. No individual is more important than the team. Each senior goes out for one or more coin tosses before Coach settles on captains toward the end of the season. He calls plays based on what's working, not who needs more touches or yards. Special teams has some of the best athletes on the team; not token playing time for non-starters. It's laughable the you think he would set the Varsity schedule based on his son being a freshman.

I don't think Scott County will see "good competition" in the playoffs because there is not "good competition" in Kentucky 6A this season.

Obviously, it looks like everyone in 6A is playing for the runner up trophy again this season. I have not seen Manual and Butler, but there does not seem to be good teams in 6A this season.

McKee has developed a winning program, in the past he has done this with most players playing both ways. This year it is different he is using more players and only a few play both ways and all of them get rested. He is using his younger good athelets for special teams and also working them into the line-up. I do believe he needs to strenghen his schedule to get the respect the team deserves. A close lose against a good program is better than a win against Webster County. I look for Scott County to only become better. They have a good group of Jr. Soph. and Freshman and also the feeder schools are strong. If he continues on the path he is on in a few years we will not have anyone going both ways and will have number in the 90s play for him. I think he will not only have a winning program but a strong program that will compete evey year with all the strong programs.

Here's what some people can't seem to grasp. I don't think Coach McKee worries too much about what people outside of Scott County think of his team or program. He cares about his starters continually improving through the non-district games, and developing depth. He cares about winning the district, regionals, and then a state championship, because that's what his players and parents want, too. In the end, that's what people and the record books remember. "Strength of schedule" is quickly forgotten if you make it to the championship round.

Not if you loose by 40 everytime you get to the Championship
