Not if you loose by 40 everytime you get to the Championship

 

Couldn't disagree more. Every year there are Thousands of Kentucky high school football players that hope to make it to the championship game, regardless of the ultimate outcome. It's better to lose by 40 in the championship than to loose by one point in the first round...by the way, not only do your remember Scott County being there, but apparently you remember the score, too. Point made.

Thats great Jack. Im Happy for any kids that win. That being said Scott County hasnt played anybody and wont play anybody the rest of the season. Compare your schedule to what Trinity has played John Hardin, Lexington Catholic,Boyle County and the list goes on. You have not played a team that you shouldnt have beat by 30 or 40. Half or more of the teams you have played couldnt win in a JV state tourny. I understand that the kids dont make the schedule and I am not knocking them. They have taken care of business. When you get on here and start talking about how dominate the Cardinals are you need to look at strengh of schedule. I have seen Scott Co play and a team that can pass will cause you serious problems.Your run defense is good,your run game is good,Your passing game is non existant.I do wish you well your a central Ky team. I think when you have the biggest HS in the state you should be able to field a team that can compete every year,we will see what happens.

Hammerman, you misunderstood my comment about SC "dominating" opponents. That was in response to so many people discounting the success of this team due to "strength of schedule". The schedule is what it is, and several of these 6A teams aren't seeing the success they've experienced in past years, but the SC critics act like the Cardinals are barely winning these games. Hence my comment about "dominating".

 

P.S. Scott County has a very effective and efficient passing game; 60+% completion rate, averaging 20+ yards per completion and a 9:2 TD to interception ratio. Coach McKee uses it as much or as little as needed to win that particular game. Right now SC averages 100+ passing yards per game. This offense runs the ball to open up the passing game, but if they're succeeding on the ground against a team, why risk putting the ball in the air?

jack99, I do not disaggree with you yes it is fun to play in the finals but it is more fun to win, ask anyone who has won a state championship. Yes I remember them being there, I was at the game. I had a son that started center for them when Cronin was qb. I have followed Scott County football sense I was on the first football team in 1964. I have seen more ups and downs with this program and remember when we had a hard time fielding a team.

 

Hammerman, I have watched Lex Cath and Boyle play this year and think Scott County would beat both these teams this year. Also our pass defence is better this year than any prior year and we do average 115 yards per game in the air. I also believe like you that we need to play a tough scedule outside of conference games. Scott County is a dominate team in the Lexington area and has been for the past 3 years.

Sorry I have seen you play and your not playing anybody. 100 yards passing against defense that cant cover is not an efficient passing game.You have played some middle school teams. Im sorry but lexington is down,way down. Bryan Station is the only team in lex that has anything. Lafayette will play a decent game and then lay an egg.Scott County Has had a good year but to dominate also rans does not make a great team. I do wish you well and hope I am wrong. I just dont see it. Catholic would put up 40 against you. I saw them play John Hardin and if the officials had shown up they would have beat them. You may beat Boyle but Cath? no way. They would get up for that game. Opinions are what make this site what it is and I respect yours.
