Trimble County came in with a great game plan and lead 14-7 at half. Frankfort shot themselves in the foot all night with penalties. Second half was mostly Frankfort as they adjusted and started pounding the ball inside. Quan Weaver had a tremendous second half as he got most of his 199 rushing yards after half. Final should have been 27-14 but Trimble was picked off the last play of the game and EJ Fields ran it back 60 yards as the horn sounded to make the final 33-14. Trimble County gave it all they had and gave the Panthers all they wanted. Could a mod merge these threads we must have been typing at the same time.

I don't know how long coach Faust has been at Bracken, but he's been coaching along time. I would think given time he can straighten the situation out. Bracken playing strictly a JV schedule for a couple of years is probably not a bad ideal.

The wording on passing leagues until the 31st seems a little vague to me. The working with other teams leaves the door open for other than passing leagues. I don't see coaches wanting to participate in passing leagues when real practice can start. Most coaches will work with players that are on baseball teams good enough to be playing that late. We had a player my senior year who was on the Babe Ruth team that made it to the national tournament. He didn't get to footbal until almost our first scrimmage, and the coaches had no problem with it. Of course it didn't hurt he ran a 4.3 forty and was a first team allstate defensive back.

If Frankfort doesn't come ready to play it will be a long night for the Panthers.

Frankfort is 4-1 outscoring opponents 233-32 with their only loss coming to Franklin County who is ranked in the top 10 in 4A and scored 24 of the 32 Frankfort has given up. Trimble is 3-2 outscoring opponents 160-107. They have one common opponent Gallatin County who Frankfort beat 68-8 at Gallatin. Gallatin beat Trimble 29-8 at Trimble. I think I'll have to go with Frankfort in this one.

There are coaches that have their offensive linemen wear the same color gloves of the opposition to make holding a little harder to detect. The guy I learned alot from pretty much goes with if the hands are outside the frame of the body it'll probably get you a holding call.

That's correct and that was CoachBuckets senior year. One of the more talented teams Frankfort has had. When they were freshmen coach Webb ask me to come help coach,and told me if he was going to win a state championship that group would be his best shot.I had alot of stuff going on in my life and only got to coach them one year.

Frankforts program was at an all time low from 91 to 98 we are finally back where we belong.

I know coaches do use overconfident supporters of other teams as bulletin board material to get players fired up. Don't see any harm in it, and it's kinda like your parents ranting at you; you tend not to listen to the coaches sometimes. If you can show them what other people are saying it hits home a little more. Any small advantage you can gain is worth the try.

Frankforts state runner-up team of 68 is about as far as I go back with personel knowledge. So I'll start there. Mac Quarles played at Centre. Bo Robinson, Irv Redden, Robert Clay, Fish Eddins, Tommy Russell, Willie Washington, Ricky Yett, Glenn Jones, Steven Brown alot of these guys were first team allstate, and all of 'em were at least as good as Alonzo and Antoine.

Coached both of them and they were very good, but they would've had a hard time starting for Frankfort back in the 70's.

You need to get over the pooch kick it was in the first half. After half with a big lead I would agree. Most coaches unless it's totally out of hand will play their varsity until halftime.

I believe it's their first year of district play second year of varsity football. You are correct they are doing a fine job.

They must've improved since srimmages, if coachbuckett is blowing smoke as Frankfort beat them 49-14.

No that was Jamie Bennett I would have to rate him a close second. Also before I started following Frankfort Ed Rall took the 68 team to the state finals and started at Centre. The guy I played with was probably a better footbal player than all of them Chad Wiard, good leader played corner on defense. I left out one very good one Steven Brown took the 90 team to the state semifinals probably the best athlete out of the bunch. You couldn't go wrong with any of these.

This limiting contact doesn't fly in high school. You have too many players that aren't fundamentally sound in blocking and tackling, and the only way to teach it is full speed. On the college level I could see it because if a player is good enough to deserve a scholarship I would think he's been coached well in high school. Coaches have standards and if you have a legitament excuse playing time is not affected.

Frankfort High would be Jimmy Dixon in the early 70's. He was a three year starter at Kentucky State.

I think 6 classes is too many. If you went to 5 classes it wouldn't be quite so watered down.
