I agree. But, I do think it was a foul. I think Miami probably came out on the good side with the officiating, but they didn't determine the game. OKC determined the game by once again not being ready to play until the second half.

Kudos to Lebron last night. Can't deny that he was CLUTCH in that one. Hit some huge baskets down the stretch and knocked down all of his FT's, while Durant missed some FT's and then the easy fallaway that could have evened the game. (I didn't like the decision by Lebron to take a pull-up three when Miami was up two and running the shot clock down. That would be my only critique. Minor.) This is the most intriguing and entertaining finals matchup in a long, long time. Two superstars, Durant and Lebron, two great sidekicks in Westbrook and Wade, excellent teams that play entertaining basketball. It has been a while since the finals had a matchup like that. It makes it even better that the two main guys are delivering the goods. KD and LBJ have both been lights out through two games. I haven't been this drawn to watching the finals since MJ was winning titles in Chicago.

Lebron is what he is...the best all-around player in the league and the player that anyone would want above all others for the first 42 minutes of a game. He is not a closer. I don't care what kind of stats are presented, I've watched him look like a different guy in late game situations enough for it to be a legit question. I've seen him miss many clutch FT's and I've rarely seen him deliver when he has a last shot to tie or win a game. I think we just need to accept him for what he is and appreciate the talent. I also can't help but wonder how things might have been different for him if he'd ever had the opportunity to play for a good coach.

I know it is overused in sports, but I think Miami has to win this game to have a shot in this series.

Harden's ability to pass the ball and be a playmaker is underrated. He's known as a scorer, but I think he's the best passer on OKC's team.

I like the Thunder. They are the better team and should win. A team with Lebron, Wade and Bosh are capable of winning against anyone. The problem for Miami is that Wade and Bosh have to be on their A-game for them to beat OKC, IMO. Bosh isn't 100%, and Wade either isn't fully healthy either, or his game has declined more than people realized.

FWIW, I picked the Thunder in 5 before the series started.

Davis is the best and most talented player UK has ever had, IMO.

If you're familiar with the 14th region, you know that PCC's coach (Hatcher) loves to play that slow-down, grind-it-out style of low-scoring basketball. IMO, that doesn't maximize the talent he consistently possesses at a school like Perry Central. The Commodores were probably 10-15 points better than the rest of the region, but when you play a style of basketball that allows solid teams to stay close, especially a team with a player like Matt Day, you open the door for a big shot or two down the stretch to beat you. This is certainly an upset, but I think many people familiar with the region felt Buckhorn was a dangerous opponent for PCC to have to face in a district eliminator. The two teams did not play during the regular season, and I believe that likely benefitted Buckhorn in this situation. Congratulations to the Wildcats. This certainly opens the door for a few other teams in the region and makes Knott Central the favorite.

I don't think anybody takes the entire Bible literally. Some may claim to do so, but this thread alone shows why that isn't likely to be true. Some may view it as picking and choosing which passages to take literally and which not to, but I think it is up to us as individuals to study God's word and seek his guidance in how to interpret and apply to our lives. That process could certainly involved seeking other opinions and asking them why they view it the way they do.

Based on previous calls, Moultrie should have been hit with two T's before he ever had a chance to kick Jones. :lol: I don't necessarily think he was trying to hurt Jones, but I do think it was an irrational act made in a moment of frustration. I see the push as a similar play. Just frustration taken out in a way that isn't acceptable, IMO. They need to be able to control themselves better. It seemed like MSU was clinging to their lead for much of the second half. UK made an early run to tighten the game back up, then they made a couple of runs and nearly got back even, but the Bulldogs managed to make a couple of big plays to hold them off. Then Miller gets fouled on the three ball, makes all the foul shots and cuts it back to 4. Maybe it was just me, but it just felt like UK was imposing their will and MSU was just trying to hold them off, but eventually they weren't going to be able to. The point being, I think they played about as good as they are capable and had to face the realization that their best wasn't good enough. That is very frustrating.

No, thanks for the information. Obviously I'm just going by the KHSAA site, so all updates and corrections are more than welcome (from me at least). I would think that would certainly make a difference and is worth noting.

I knew someone posted (I thought it was you) that Bryan Station really wanted to end Henry Clay's season and thought they could do it.

35th District Covington Catholic (17-12) - 81 Covington Holy Cross (28-3) - 74 Triple Overtime. Holy Cross won the first matchup 74-68 in OT. Not a surprising result, but by ratings and record the underdog won. 37th District Campbell Co. (17-12) - 46 Bishop Brossart (20-8) - 40 Campbell Co. won the regular season matchup 58-54 @ Bishop Brossart. Again, not so much an upset, but the favorite didn't win. 42nd District Bryan Station (12-19) - 60 Henry Clay (22-9) - 54 Henry Clay won both regular season matchups, winning by 10 on their home court early in the season and by 6 @ Bryan Station in mid-January. Major upset for the team that beat Madison Central and Scott County in back-to-back games just three weeks ago to go down. That was the only regional losses either of those teams suffered, and it is the only thing standing between Central and an undefeated record. Definitely the biggest upset to date. 51st District Pineville (11-17) - 66 Barbourville (23-5) - 55 Barbourville won the first meeting by 15 @ Pineville and was considered a contender for the regional championship. Another big upset, IMO, but not quite as eye opening as Henry Clay going down. Also, not sure about the score. KHSAA has 66-55, but someone posted in the game thread that is should be 66-65. There's what I see.

He averaged 17.7 ppg for his career in college (13.4 ppg as a freshman). He was a consensus first team All-American twice and player of the year prior to entering the draft early and going #3 overall. Let's not downplay it too much. Perhaps nobody saw him going on to become the greatest of all time, but he was great as a college player and everybody did know that. That team also had James Worthy and Sam Perkins. You can argue however you want, but I know Carolina has never had a team that was far better than that.

I can absolutely see MKG going top 3. You just don't find that many guys with his talent and that kind of attitude and motor. He's got a lot of room for improvement, but you'd have to like the odds of him reaching that potential with his work ethic. Obviously, there are variables like who is picking where and what they need, but I don't think that is a stretch for him. He's a special kid, IMO. As for Miller, I think there's a chance he could get picked in the second round, but I don't see it as a certainty by any means.

^I'm sure they do. Another point related to scouts is that playing for UK gets guys like Liggins more looks than they would get otherwise, IMO. Since Cal is always stocked with lottery picks it seems, scouts are going to be watching his teams more, so a guy like Liggins (for example) is getting watched more than he would be in a different situation. Even if the scouts primary focus is Brandon Knight, they'll be checking the other guys out as well.

I'll be surprised if Murray State can get seeded better than a 7. That's assuming they run the table.

As a Kentucky fan, there's no team out there that scares me. Certainly, I wouldn't mind getting to play Pikeville, Union, Berea, Kentucky State, Sullivan and Campbellsville in the Big Dance. But, Kentucky presents more problems to any opponent than vice versa. I think you nailed it in Post #85. The "drifts in concentration" are my biggest concern. I can certainly see a scenario where that could end UK's season.

Kentucky by double digits. The Cats will weather the early storm of a hyped up team and take control at some point. My question is whether they'll keep their foot on the gas, or ease up and give MSU that opening to make a run later in the game.
