I almost started this thread last week. I'm curious to see who Penn State goes after. With the current landscape of college football, this hire means a lot for the future of Penn State football.

I've never really understood why Middletown gets lumped in with Cincinnati instead of Dayton. They're about 40 ish minutes from downtown Cincinnati and about 25 minutes from downtown Dayton.

This season is a bust. I'm checked out. I'll watch the Reds in the playoffs, after that, I'm ready for Kentucky basketball.

Some have speculated that he wants to get into something outside of basketball. I always worry about a coaches health when stuff like this happens though.

The announcers said Illinois just got beat by the better team, but they got curb stomped. That loss is demoralizing for any team.

In true Redlegs fashion, they did what I said, but in the opposite order, going like .333 and now tearing off 4 in a row during crunch time. Wild thing is, if they'd just stayed CLOSE to .500 they'd be sitting comfortably. With all of that said, they've looked hungry and solid the last week. I'm hoping they can make it happen.

I hear ya. Any 5A or 6A team losing to a school 3A or below, was a bad loss, regardless of how good the team was.

I know CAL isn't like most schools in lower classes, but I feel like 10-20 years ago most folks would've laughed or fired back at a comment like that. I think some years some schools in the smaller classes are just that good. And people are finally waking up to it.

As a long time fan of the Redlegs, that means we should expect them to win 10 of the next 16, or 9 of the next 14 and then lose the last 2.

I said this in the Mississippi State vs Arizona State thread but it should go in here as well. I'm not gonna lie, I said it would be a boring week of football and that's because I was busy and looked at chalk(rankings) and didn't pay much attention to some of the matchups. Some decent "upsets" for week 2.

If they best Miami next week, they're in the driver's seat and possibly looking at a decent playoff seed. If they lose to Miami but don't get blown out, I'd say they've still got a great shot. They'll be 2-1 against top 25 teams and likely undefeated against the remainder of their schedule. Memphis, Navy and North Texas are likely teams that could be problems, AND all 3 of those games are on the road.

I'd imagine Boley will get the start next week but I could be wrong.

Given the Boone County population growth that continues, I feel like St. Henry could thrive. With that said, Cooper and Ryle, the teams that could lose said athletes, are solid programs so it will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Is this game a bit of a crosstown/county shootout now? Is the rivalry growing?

Tough loss for the Reds, playoffs are slipping away. My buddy told me from the get go they are a .500 ball club, that was in April. Unfortunately Redlegs are proving him right down the stretch when it matters most. I'll keep watching.
