The Bengals (2-0) hit the road again to head up to Minnesota to take on the Vikings (1-1). The Bengals suffered a major loss again this year as Joe Burrow suffered a turf toe injury that looks like it is going to require surgery and he is going to be out anywhere from 3 months to the whole season. It falls on Jake Browning to be the next man up. It is also being reported today that Vikings rookie quarterback J.J. McCarty has already been ruled out for Sunday's game and the next 2-4 weeks with an ankle sprain. So, it will be Carson Wentz for the Vikes. The game is scheduled to kick at 1:00pm and is on CBS. Go Bengals! WHO DEY!!

Vikings were pathetic last night.  Bengals won with their second string qb.

Bengals 27-10

Vikes are a 3 point favorite.

From Lance McAlister and the Bengals on Facebook.

Placed QB Joe Burrow on the Reserve/Injured list. Burrow, a sixth-year player, suffered a toe injury in Sunday’s game against Jacksonville.

Signed QB Brett Rypien off the practice squad to the active roster. Rypien, a sixth-year player, signed on Aug. 27 to Cincinnati’s practice squad, where he spent the first two games of the season.

Signed QB Sean Clifford to the practice squad. Clifford (6-2, 212), a second-year player out of Penn State, originally was a fifth-round draft pick of Green Bay in 2023. He spent his rookie season on the Packers’ active roster and played in two games, completing one pass for 37 yards. He then spent the entire 2024 season on Green Bay’s practice squad, and was waived by the Packers on Aug. 26. Clifford is a Cincinnati native and played at St. Xavier High School.

Signed QB Mike White to the practice squad. White (6-4, 225), a sixth-year player out of Western Kentucky University, originally was a fifth-round draft pick of Dallas in 2018. He has played in 15 regular-season games with seven starts for the N.Y. Jets (2021-22), Miami (’23) and Buffalo (’24). His career totals include 199 completions on 324 attempts for 2247 yards and nine TDs with 13 INTs. He was waived by the Bills on Aug. 26.

Signed WR Kendric Pryor to the practice squad. Pryor (5-11, 189), a second-year player out of the University of Wisconsin, spent this past offseason and training camp with the Bengals before being waived on Aug. 26. He was not with an NFL team during the first two weeks of the season.

The Bengals’ practice squad currently is at the 16-player limit.

Just reported on ESPN that the Vikings placed running back Aaron Jones on the injured reserve list so he will be out for the next 4 games. They also today signed QB Desmond Ridder.

I read that White was the QB for the Jets when they beat the Bengals in 2021. I thought the knock on Clifford was he was a better runner than passer? No clue what the answer is, but could they trade a pick for a top rated backup QB, would that make sense?

In the battle of the backups, I'll take the Vikings at home.   I hate to do it, but I just don't trust the Bengals defense enough to think anything other than Joe Burrow can save them.   I hope I'm wrong.

Justin Jefferson is licking his chops at that injury report.

I suppose and I guess the Vikes backup QB will probably try to force some balls to JJ.

I hate Stewart is out he needs to get snaps.

I feel pretty good about this game overall.  I think that the Bengals leave Minnesota with a win by likely 3-4 points.
