He turned down several offers and is attending MSU. He decided he would like to concentrate on school, and major in the medical field. He is a great kid who made a tough decision, he will be very sucessful in life.

Those are two outstanding players, and even better young men.

You could probably cut and paste that response every year and be dead on!

Everyone except Tyler Jackson. He was definitely a great player though.

Dave Baldwin taught at East Carter for over 30 years, and was involved with the football program for 18 years. He was a true raider fan. East Carter has lost one of the originals, he will be sorely missed!! Coach Baldwin was 63.

I thought East was bigger and faster, but Russell was much more disciplined. Their offensive line got off the ball and opened holes. They definitely don't have playmakers, but are so fundamentally sound and well-coached. Russell will be fine, not a great year, but solid. East has alot to work on during their bye week, offense has to show up from here on out to give Coach Manning's defense some rest.

Colin is not at East Carter. He still lives over in Hitchins, a few miles from East Carter. He probably passes by East Carter on his way to Rose Hill in the mornings, that may lead people to believe he has returned to East. Colin is a good kid, and good student. I wish him luck wherever he is!

Nothing surprises me from the KHSAA. I have seen players ruled eligible because their parents rented an apartment in a new town, kept their old house, lived in their old house, put a "For Sale" sign in their yard, and asked an unreasonable price. The KHSAA is blind at times.

East lost 1 senior from this years team, I believe East and Greenup will be at the top of the region.

From what I was told each varsity team only got 5 games and each JV team only got 3 or maybe 4. If that's correct then the prices still should have been dropped!!

Prices were also too high if what I heard was correct. $300 for 5 varsity games and $175 for 3 JV games is way too much!! Most places charge $250 for 6 varsity games. 3 JV games should be $125 at the most.

AND this is illegal unless they are offering bus pickup to ALL the students in the school and not JUST the athletes.

Corretion, that was East Carter JV that beat Augusta, 35-31. East Carter JV also beat West Carter JV 35-13 on Monday.

I saw the players in the all-star game from region 16 and both were very derserving, the kid that played SS had 2 good days of showcases, and a good showing in the game. The GC player was very talented and they had a great year, as did EC who won the region rather convincingly in the finals don't you think! Many coaches stated that Stapleton was one of the better defensive players in the game, not to mention he won 8 games on the hill this year.

I thought Billy was going to James Madison. Also congrats to Eric Craft and Tyler Jackson of East Carter for being honorable mention all-state.

You're right, they did beat East Carter @ Morehead, but by 1, not by 20+, I was there!! Good game.

There is quite a drop-off after Shepard in the rotation. The next 2 are good pitchers, but nowhere near Shepard. It should be interesting to see how it plays out. Good luck Lawrence Co.!
