After 9 innings it was 4-3 East. Mason had the lead after 7 at 3-2. Both teams looked like it was mid-march.

Jones is falling out of bounds as she is in frontcourt, she throws the ball into backcout, #30 from Iroquios dives on the ball and throws it out of bounds as the whistle blows, Mathies never touches the ball!! Should have been E-town's ball at mid-court! Officials did a great job this game, this call didn't cost them the game but you're wrong, again!!

KW Sexton of East Carter hit 23 in 1999 and finished with 35 or so for his career. East hit 93 as a team that year, 3rd all time nationally. I know everyone will say short porch, but the opponents hit only 4 at East Carter that year.

I've heard that from 3-4 people, must be true then!! Powers that be need to come up with something new so the girls don't have to play in Weatherby anymore, from lack of lockerooms, to dim lighting to a confusing floor it's just not a good venue for basketball anymore!

Good point!! You don't regional championships during the summer but good teams AND good players can be made during the summer to win those championships!

Lots of schools are doing this now. East Carter has 12 7th and 8th graders playing up, and 16 more playing middle school baseball. It can only help these teams in the future.

Can't really remember who all is graduating for all 3 teams right off the top of my head but from what I can remember I'd probably go: 1. East 2a. & 2b - Ashland-Rowan

Lex Cath. asked today to reschedule for next week. A new date has not been set that I know of. Friday would have been a nice day to play, but they had something come up and could not make the trip I was told.

Coach Roy played junior college ball in Illinois, he went to SC, but I believe had an arm injury.

The experience is great, the baseball is great, the fields and facilities are average at best, but very usable.

I agree it would be a shocker if East wins, but I am not that shocked at the halftime score. Last years district finals was close between these 2 teams, and East is better than most realize. I understand your point of a top 2 team getting knocked out early, but Elliott may have the toghest 1st round game of any top team.
