I find it to be amazing that a junior is picked 4th as player of the year in the 16th region and yet doesn't make the junior all-star team. I think the process obviously needs some changes. The player I am referring to is from Boyd County and finished the year with a batting average over 400. I would also like to mention the other teams in the region did not play near the caliber teams Boyd Co. did, with the exception of Greenup County. I think that this is terrible!:idunno:

The 10th region feels your pain. Martin and Dye from Harrison County neither one were represented in the all star game and Kyle Campbell from Nicholas County was. Both kids batted over .400 and Martin was 4-0 and pitched a 7 inning perfect game against Simon Kenton which Harrison only won 2-0. Dye went 3-3 with 3 doubles tying the state record and only made one error at second base all year. No offense to Campbell but with the caliber of teams Harrison played and the way these young men performed I feel that the selection of this all-star team was a bit unfair.

I saw the players in the all-star game from region 16 and both were very derserving, the kid that played SS had 2 good days of showcases, and a good showing in the game. The GC player was very talented and they had a great year, as did EC who won the region rather convincingly in the finals don't you think! Many coaches stated that Stapleton was one of the better defensive players in the game, not to mention he won 8 games on the hill this year.

It is obvious that you are an East Carter fan which is fine. I am not taking away anything from the players who went to the All-Star game. However, when a junior player is picked 4th as regional player of the year and the top 3 are seniors, then it seems logical that the junior would be an all-star pick.

Rule 13

Just because you play for Harrison Co. does that mean they should always be superior to everyone else. There are some other good players in the 10th even though they don't have Harrison across their chest. I'm glad the 10th had someone else represent them that had a good yr and that doesn't play for the Breds. Yes, those players were just as deserving but from what I heard the coaches vote on it and evidentally someone else liked Campbell instead. He did have a good year. Oh! I'm sorry,he doesn't wear the maroon jersey. sorry, but thats how other people feel that don't wear that jersey.

Playing the caliber of teams that Nicholas plays I think alot of people could have a good season on that team. Harrison beat Campbell to death on the mound in the district championship.

Who made the team and what high school do they play for I have not seen anything on this in the paper, unless I overlooked it.

campbell also hit a HR against your boy martin and another off the center field fence in the district. campbell didn't pitch in all star game he played 2B and 3B. what if those two guys you mentioned did make it and malcolm thomas didn't, that wouldn't be fair to him then would it. so bottom line there are some good players left out.

Campbell did not hit a home run off on Martin. Thomas was well deserving as he had a stand out season.

I thought E. Hardin should of been selected from Greenup County. I don't believe he lost a game on the mound that he started this season. The best GC pitcher this past season. IMO :thumb:

I think L.T. Rice was more deserving than any other Junior at GC. JMO.
