Why not play the game then? There was a 5 way tie. Boone was all in when they were going to play Dixie. If Boone really wanted to prove they were the 6A freshman champions why not play Ryle. Ryle coaches were not present at this meeting as they were at the Freshman game supporting their freshman team defeat Dixie so they did not participate in the decision making but did offer to play Boone. Boone did win the first time against Ryle in a very close game. Ryle improved a great deal throughout the season - I agree with Ryle Wagon on there would have been a diffferent result the second time around. Hopefully for next season, there will be specific tie breakers to end this debate.

I heard Ryle was selling pink shirts at school to promote the cause.

Its all in your tone. Just because a school does not have the volleyball talent to compete with an Assumption or and NDA, does not mean that they do not work hard every day. I applaud the areas of the state that are promoting volleyball.

I expect this to be a good game. A lot has changed for Ryle with players in key positions and many of the injured have returned.

And it is true nearly every year.

I have seen flyers at the Louisville facilities for kids starting in kindergarten. There are kids on travel teams in Louisville that can jump serve by the time they are playing 10U, 11U, 12U. They are elite programs that have been in existence for years. They enforce the fundamentals at the young ages in their training programs, non-travel teams and travel programs. Again, I am not saying NKY cannot eventually do this, but they run it year round, by very established programs and coaches (KIVA, MAVA, UNION). The facilities in Louisville are geared primarily toward volleyball. The facilites in NKY share with soccer and basketball. It makes a difference when facility time is given to other sports. I am not saying it cannot happen in NKY, but it is different approach. Not every girl from Assumption plays for KIVA, although many do. They have players from other schools too. I still think the biggest factor here is population. Cincinnati is very close to NKY and has a larger population and a level of volleyball comparable to Louisville.

A rule change will not even stop the dynasty. Kids in Louisville start playing club ball earlier than any part of the state. They have more facilities, more coaches and a larger population to draw from than any other part of the state.

Congratulations to Brian Goller! Great teacher and well respected by the Bishop Brossart community.

I thought CC graduated a ton of talent last year. You have to give this new coach some time for his system to work. Bashing him this early is going to do nothing for the program and the morale. Congratulations to Cooper on the win, they seem to be slowly building.

You can't pay tuition to attend the school. You must live not only in district, but in the area for that school within the district. That is the only way you attend one of the Boone County Schools, unless your parents teach there.

Back to the original question, the building of new high schools with no opportunity for tuition students hurts the schools in Boone County. For instance, there were some good football players that would have added speed and depth to Ryle's team last year that played for Ryle as freshmen. They built Cooper and they had no choice to stay at Ryle. There is no tuition option.

I can't believe that a coach is being looked at negatively for enforcing a team rule. Kudos to Coach Warner for keeping the same standard for all players at Ryle.

How was it that the game was the first verbal comittment between the two teams and it was broken by Cov? The comitt was there before they played their game last season.
