It will be widely reported that the state championship volleyball match will take place on Oct 29th at Bellarmine, where Assumption will defeat "Pikesvilleburg South" from Region 15, 25-2, 25-3. Anyone who knows volleyball will tell you this is terribly incorrect.

 

With no apologies to the KHSAA and their antiquated random seeding system, or to the schools lucky enough to draw the top half of the state bracket, Assumption vs NDA on Thur Oct 6 at Thomas More College is the REAL state championship match in the Commonwealth. Assumption is the unanimous #1 and I'm valuting NDA to #2 ahead of Sacred Heart based on # of losses.

 

It's simply the biggest and best volleyball match played in the state this season . . .the 2 top programs in the state . . . final regular season match . . . the most D1 recruits on the floor at the same time at any match this season in the state . . . Assumption leads season head-to-head 1-0 . . . game moved to Thomas More for extra seating for all the college scouts and coaches . . . (I made that up but semi-true).

 

NDA has a shot if 3 or more Rocket starters are out with the flu, otherwise I say Assumption rolls until proven otherwise. The Rockets are 27-1 and have only lost 4 sets all season. They are a step above everyone else in Kentucky, and in most other states' as well.

Hype it if you want and I will most likely be there but it is still just a regular season game. The time to beat Assumption is during the tournament. I would not want to beat them now and have to face them again later.

 

Now having said that if you want to see some great athleticism, I mean awesome play then attend this game. It will be worth whatever you are charged for entry.

I predict Assumption will win the State Championship . . . which means I disrespect every other team in the state.

I predict NCC will win the 10th Region . . . which means I direspect every other 10th Region team.

I predict NDA will win the 9th Region . . . which means I disrepect every other 9th Region team.

and I believe it's a crock when only 1 NKY team and 1 Louisville team will get to the Semi-Finals . . . which I guess is disrespecting the KHSAA.

And as one of you esteemed veterans certainly would have said to me by now, this is a prediction thread for one of the biggest matches of the year, and the last 6 posts have nothing to do with the topic or thread. If you want to start a pile on BK thread, go do that somewhere else.

But this didn't start out as a prediction thread by a longshot . It started out as a thread dismissing all the teams that might appear in the in the state championship that aren't named Assumption or Notre Dame by intimating that they might as well not even play and celebrate their their sucessfull years because the 2 aforementioned teams will already have determined the outcome . Certainly you don't believe in predestination , do you ? Let the State Championship occur .

And if calling the eight teams that will appear in the top bracket ( whomever they are ) Pikesvilleburg South isn't disrespecting those student athletes and their accomplishments and hard work then I don't Know what disrespect is . If this is the attitude of the the Notre Dame faithful Then they have a lot to learn on how to be good winners

Your tone hurts NDA like some other schools' fans on here hurt their teams with their brazen disrespect for other schools. Don't take shots at the lower-tier teams . They've done nothing wrong other than win their region and win games in the bracket that the KHSAA set up. They do not deserve the "Pikesvilleburg South" comment. You might as well have said "Hillbilly High" as that is the same thing when read by others.

 

Predicting who wins is cool. It's what we do. IF you want to kill another team and their season go to Yappi. That's what they do over there.
