So making a prediction is a sign of disrespect? Hmm. Let me make sure I have this correct . . .

 

I predict Assumption will win the State Championship . . . which means I disrespect every other team in the state.

I predict NCC will win the 10th Region . . . which means I direspect every other 10th Region team.

I predict NDA will win the 9th Region . . . which means I disrepect every other 9th Region team.

and I believe it's a crock when only 1 NKY team and 1 Louisville team will get to the Semi-Finals . . . which I guess is disrespecting the KHSAA.

Clyde - "They'll show up because the brackets said they get the right to show up." are your words not mine. Show me where I stated someone didn't have the right to show up.

 

You want respect? Go earn it. Go play someone who matters and win. You'll get it from me. Prove it to me GRC. Go beat NCC on their home floor and I will respect you forever. Prove it to me Region 15 winner - beat Assumption and I will glady sing your praises from the highest mountain top for eternity.

 

And as one of you esteemed veterans certainly would have said to me by now, this is a prediction thread for one of the biggest matches of the year, and the last 6 posts have nothing to do with the topic or thread. If you want to start a pile on BK thread, go do that somewhere else.

 

 

I don't have a problem with anyone making a prediction, as Clyde said, its what we do. But I do have a problem with disrespecting other schools by indicating that they shouldn't even show up. I believe Assumption or ND will be in the finals too, but anything can happen. That's why they play the games and those other teams have earned that right to play by winning their region.

 

The ND/Assumption game should be a great match and I am looking forward to it.

Predictions are always great, but trying to use that justification with very thinnly-vieled insults to the dozens of other programs out there is just weak. Your posts espouse support of all those school you just mentioned while disrespecting others who will have earned a berth in District/Regional/State Tournaments.

Let them play the game, and see how it all falls out. Congratulate the winners, and thank the teams for all thier hard work that fall short.

 

Back to the regular season match-up between these two teams. This will give the winner some HUGE momentum as they move into the playoff's in two weeks. Another HUGE game that is going to happen the day previous is NCC/Ryle on Oct 5th.

Just for the record, the first match up with these two teams was not all that close. But they are two of the best in the state and well worth watching. The slam factor is huge from both sides of the net and the gets are crazy good. Want to see Kentucky State High School Volleyball at its best then check it out.

Its all in your tone. Just because a school does not have the volleyball talent to compete with an Assumption or and NDA, does not mean that they do not work hard every day. I applaud the areas of the state that are promoting volleyball.

Sacred Heart has surged back ahead of NDA into #2 in the state based on the Chicago results. After winning Durango and Chicago, Assumption has to be #1 in the country now - they were in the top 5. Assumption vs NDA this Thursday probably won't be as good as NCC vs St. Henry was this past Saturday.

You never know how the ball is going to bounce. I have not seen Assumption so I hope to attend to see these slammers in action. Losing to them would not be the worst thing to happen to a team. Only the team from Georgia has defeated them this year.

 

I think the Pandas are on par with Sacred Heart. The Marist team that beat NDA in Chicago got pretty far in the championship bracket. Either way I will cheer for the Pandas whenever they play.

But on the other side of that coin, not one of those thrashed teams would have given up that opportunity to play in the State Tournament. Assumption is at a different level than even the rest of the "elite" of KY. Crazy good.

 

However, even should NDA go down to defeat they'll still get to compete in a great environment against top, top competition. That's what competitors want. It's a no-lose situation.
