I would invite Lincoln County to the banner raising ceremony in Park Hills. NDA students won't be at that either.

My point is keep it equal - if the boys got an extra day this year, the girls should have also. If there was a conflict for the boys at Rupp they should have moved it to the YUM center or Freedom Hall or BOKC. I am for being equal in boys and girls sports, which apparently many disagree with.

It doesn't make it right. The Boys' tournament isn't run this way, so why are they being allowed to get away with it for the girls ? Cheap KHSAA. They don't have to rent the arena for another day. State gets 2 rounds and 2 admission $$$ in 1 day. If they want to make money make classes - more teams, more tourney games, more $$$$.

NDA could possibly play 3 games in 22.5 hours. Is Hey Diddle Diddle arena closed on Sunday? Why is the Championship tonight? I'm sure the reason won't make any sense to me.

Why should they go? There isn't a big Cov Cath student turnout at any of NDA's Basketball games, Soccer matches, or Volleyball matches. To get support you have to give it. The 2 schools are supporting each other less and less.

The short answer is no - at least not in the modern era. Remember, the state had a 50+ year gap between girls' state championship tournaments. And no, it's not going to happen this year. No one is going to be able to touch Marion County.

NDA head coach says it's "unfortunate that we can't get the student body down here". No kidding. The lack of school support is appalling, especially when you see the turnout from other schools. Over 600 students at NDA and this could be the deepest they've ever gone at State. Where are they?

All the man to man NDA chose to play will not do them any favors tomorrow. Only 7 Pandas saw the floor tonight. I guess it doesn't matter since Marion is a runaway freight train right now.

NDA is going to pull it out, but the final score will not indicate how close it was for 90% of the game.

Dear NDA - when you are leading and playing defense, and the other team wants to stall, you don't have to come out of your zone to guard them. Signed, winning basketball. What is NDA doing? I'll be shocked if they win this one. They are once again playing into the other team's hand.

Well . . . by my count, NDA has 3 . . 2 plus at least 1 in the future. Voskuhl (D1 Cle State, but also could have gone D1 for soccer), Ogle is going D1 to LSU for Volleyball but could have easily gone D1 somewhere for basketball, and Sophomore Smith will be D1 for either Basketball or Softball. There's probably more with all of the soccer/basketball crossover on the team.

Thrashing. Marion marching straight to the finals. I doubt Brossart or Campbell Co would have fared any better.

More info - with NDA up by 14 with 2:03 left in 3rd, Mad Cent went on a 16-2 run to tie the game. It was mostly due to NDA cold shooting, fouls, and turnovers. When NDA is up 14 late in the 3rd they usually bury people. NDA is really lucky to be alive - those 3's from Ogle bailed them out. Ogle pretty much on bench during the collapse too.

NDA was up by 14 with 2:03 left in the 3rd. Monumental collapse. . .caused mostly by cold shooting and fouls. NDA is lucky to have pulled this one out, and didn't look good at all in the 4th.

The good ones know when to give a pat on the back or a kick in the butt. If she did this all the time it wouldn't work, just like being calm and composed all the time doesn't work either. A good coach pushes a player to a place that the player didn't think they could go. In 10 years that player will thank her coach for this and miss her greatly.

Yes they are . . . please explain why that matters. For the record so are Cov Latin, Villa Madonna, and Heritage Academy.

If your point is the coach doesn't matter, you couldn't be more wrong, and there's a long line of people waiting to tell you that. Go ask NCC fans if a Ron Dawn coached team loaded with talent would have stumbled down the stretch. It's not like HHS is a small school or void of talent, they have one D1 player, and likely more coming. A coach matters greatly.

Don't know the criteria, or who's in it now. OV Resume: 4 year starter/star/all-everything in 2 sports, team first not me first attitude, ability to carry/lead team, clutch when it counts, good kid/student. Hard to argue with that. Ogle in same position next year with volley/basket ball.

BBHS lost to a school 3x their size. This is what happens this time of the year when you don't have classes. Where are you 1 class defenders?
