Sure - here's the scouting report . . . their best players are the tall one and the fast one, but neither can play this weekend because one has a piano recital and the other plays indoor soccer. The team enjoys dribbing the ball off their feet, missing layups, going to Dairy Queen, and all things Justin Bieber. Watch out for the one parent that says the refs have it in for them, and the other parent that says his daughter is better than that and should be starting.

How is the all region team selected before Regional play is concluded? Is it a season-long award, or limited to the play during Regionals (like all-district team). Someone scores 3 goals in a Regional championship match - shouldn't they be on the All-Region team?

Are you paying attention Bishop Brossart? This is what you should be doing. Where did playing Silver Grove (W 72-18) and Calvary Christian (W 68-20) get you last year? I would (dare I say) dump the All-A and replace with tougher games. All-A gets tough in the end, but it's easy early on - (70-34 over Deming comes to mind) - and you go through it just to end up playing NCC, St. Henry, or Holy Cross in the end - who you can schedule anyway. You have the horses to compete for the next couple of years at least - go do it!

I think horsey reported a soccer score since best out of 5 didn't start until this season.

I'd rather not say because it's 3rd hand info - but I believe it to be true. We'll all find out together in about 6 weeks - it will be obvious.

Fun fact - 80% of the USA Women's Volleyball team played more than 1 sport in High School. That said, these are exceptional athletes. If you are good, club volleyball teams and high schools will make exceptions and work with you. The official word will always be the same sets of rules apply to everyone, but as we all know, in sports and in life, that's just not true. I will say don't get scared off from club volleyball by horror stories from past seasons - every area volleyball club these days is willing to work with you on scheduling - likely because their numbers are down due to the economy and they know that good athletes have a choice. back on topic: word on the street is an ND basketball starter is not returning to play her senior season. Absent from all workouts and conditioning. I would say ND no longer the R9 favorite.

If you've seen her play in AAU or grade school, you wouldn't be saying that.

Wow - Highlands wins District, sweeps NCC 3-0. Ouch. NCC now draws Ryle, St. Henry, or NDA/Holy Cross winner in regionals. Double ouch. When was the last time NCC didn't win it's District?

I see both sides . . . On the one hand, how many AD's or coaches are even on here at all? At least you know where he stands. He's promoting his "product". This is a non-official, non-binding comment board where a bunch of yahoos talk sports smack all day. Does everyone really expect him to report, post or comment on losses or bad seasons? Why would he do that? You wouldn't do that if you were an AD, or President of your business. But, sounds to me like some of you are saying that as an administrator, you expect that position to be above all of this and not comment good or bad...which is not an unreasonable expectation.

Why? Was crowd noise a factor? Did more than 5 students suddenly show up? From what I know about soccer matches only the parents and siblings go, and from what I know about the NDA set up, everyone from both teams sit on the same side, with the track and a healthy sideline between the pitch and the "stands". The crowd is far removed and so quiet you can hear a mouse peeing on cotton. It doesn't get more neutral than playing at NDA.

Even for a 5 set match, 51 digs is some serious ballin'. She's one of the reasons I was so high on BB. I believe volleyball matches are won in the back row, not the front.

Several reasons: BB beat Scott 3-1 in the regular season before the cake classic. Scott lost sets to both Holmes and Silver Grove. Saw Scott play twice this year and was not impressed. Surprised to say the least.

I think you need a resume like last year's KY Gatorade POTY Neil Henley: Athletic achievement: Henley led the Tigers to a 27-1-1 record and the state championship this past season. He scored 29 goals and passed for 18 assists, including eight goals and eight assists in eight postseason games. A two-time First Team All-State selection and a 2011 All-Tournament honoree, Henley was an All-South Region pick by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He concluded his prep soccer career with 49 goals and 32 assists.
