***note - this is purely an exercise, as Assumption will once again be crowned state champs***

Region 10:

D37 #1 Brossart #2 Campbell Co.

D38 #1 Pendleton Co. #2 Harrison Co.

D39 #1 Augusta (yes, i said it) #2 St. Patrick

D40 #1 Montgomery Co. #2 George Rogers Clark

R10 winner: Brossart. If they can be consistent on serve/receive, they should win.

Region 9:

D33 #1 Ryle #2 Conner (like them ahead of Cooper)

D34 #1 St. H #2 Villa

D35 #1 ND #2 Holy Cross

D36 #1 NCC (down, but still the best in district) #2 Highlands (Bellevue or Dayton may prove me wrong)

R9 winner: St. Henry. They simply want it more than ND.

Region 8 winner: North Oldham. Simon Kenton not impressing lately.

Brossart lost tonight to Scott in 5. Won't even make the regional.

Well you got the 40th wrong. GRC defeated MoCo last night for the district crown.

I thought BK was all knowing when it came to High School volleyball in the state of Kentucky?

Looks like he/she got several wrong. Has Bishop Brossart winning the region, and they didn't make it out of district. Got beat last night by Scott. Scott and Campbell Co will be coming out of the 37th district. Aslo got the 38th wrong. Hard for Pendleton Co and Harrison Co to come out of their district when they played each other first round. Coming out of that district will be Pendleton Co and Deming. Did get part of the 39th right. Augusta did win their district, but Mason Co is the runner-up.

Why they play the games....

Best of luck to all thoes teams playing in the regional tourney.

I'm not sure why BK had so much love for Brossart. Scott had already beaten them once in the Cake classic, and should have beaten them in the regular season game. CC also had beaten Brossart. Scott came from way behind in 2 of the 3 sets they won last night. Brossart's libero was one of the best I've seen all year. She made tons of huge digs...without her, it would have been a blowout.

Here how I'm scoring this:

.5 point for correctly predicting the 2 regional teams, 1 point each for getting the exact seeding right. Thats 3 points max per district. BUT - since I made my predictions before the blind draws and brackets were announced, I get to throw out rounds where my 2 regional predictions played each other before the finals.

Region 10:

D37 #1 Brossart #2 Campbell Co.

Currently at .5 point - 1 additional point if CC finshes 2nd

D38 #1 Pendleton Co. #2 Harrison Co.

Currently at .5 point - 1 additional point if Pen Co wins - subtract 1.5 points from total

D39 #1 Augusta (yes, i said it) #2 St. Patrick

Currently at .5 point - 1 additional point if Augusta wins

D40 #1 Montgomery Co. #2 George Rogers Clark

1 point - done

Region 9:

D33 #1 Ryle #2 Conner (like them ahead of Cooper)

Currently at .5 point - 1 additional point if Ryle wins - subtract 1.5 points from total

D34 #1 St. H #2 Villa

Currently at 1 point - 2 additional points if St. H wins

D35 #1 ND #2 Holy Cross

No scores reported - did they even play in District 36 last night??

So far that's 5 points out of 21 max in the District round. Best possible finish is 16 which is 76%

Several reasons: BB beat Scott 3-1 in the regular season before the cake classic. Scott lost sets to both Holmes and Silver Grove. Saw Scott play twice this year and was not impressed. Surprised to say the least.

I'm sorry - I missed the post where you and everyone else made their predictions - can you repost? :)

The sets Scott lost to Silver Grove and Holmes were sets played by mostly the JV and Freshman team. Scott is a bit of an enigma this year. They don't have any big hitters, but have a few that hit pretty good. They serve well when on. They block and defend well most of the time. They just make a ton of hitting and service errors and give away so many points. I've seen them lose sets where the opposing teams only have 3 or 4 kills. When they play well, they can beat anyone in the 10th region. When they play poorly, they can't beat anyone.

She is the best I have seen in a long time. She (Emily Greis) gets to balls most do not and when she does it ends up at the setter like it should. She had (according to Volleyball website) 51 digs last night (4 alone on 1 amazing point in the 3rd game):thumb:thumb:thumb:thumb:thumb:

I remember that point and it was pretty amazing. The thing that stood out about her was she was always in the right position, and she made all the digs look so easy, with nearly a perfect pass. Very impressive.

I couldn't agree more!! Emily is not just a great libero, but an amazing girl! I would also like to give props to the Libero from Scott. I thought that she played a fantastic game. It was a sad night for the seniors but I am STILL very proud to be a MUSTANG!

51 digs last night

Even for a 5 set match, 51 digs is some serious ballin'. She's one of the reasons I was so high on BB. I believe volleyball matches are won in the back row, not the front.

Must have caught them on one of their "down" days . . .
