The short answer is no - at least not in the modern era. Remember, the state had a 50+ year gap between girls' state championship tournaments. And no, it's not going to happen this year. No one is going to be able to touch Marion County.

NO, the closest was Highlands in 1994, lost in the finals.

Kruger was an eighth grader and just started playing varsity minutes toward the end of that season if my memory is correct. I think she also didn't start playing basketball until middle school.
