  1. awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!! should be on TV locally before football starts up
  2. I guess it is great to say that you were the state runner-up!
  3. Boyd -PRP will be a classic duel !
  4. Wasn't the Ox who petitioned the KHSAA to move the possibility of the Trinity-X rematch to the 3rd round so his mighty touted tiggers wouldn't have to shoulder the embarassment of losing to Trinity for the 3 rd time in 4 years in the state championship finals? Or is it just a rumor? ANYHOW............. December is when the mangy Ox hides in the dust behind the pendulum, eagerly awaiting for it to swing !
  5. X will be in Applebee's......Congrats to Coach White and fine bunch of kids.
  6. Had to bump this . I should have went across the street and then maybe I could have something in my pocket for being a prophet. (Churchill Downs is across the street for those of you who don't live in Louisville)
  7. Indeed the Rocks always play inspired under Coach T. Look for X to be inspired so that they can carry Coach White off the field.
  8. Drawing Atherton or Fern Creek is a lucky draw, BUT, Eastern has to go right at Ballard or its curtains, so they must throw a No.1 (Chowning), because Ballard can beat anyone with Deathridge on the hill. Ballard or Eastern will face X with a No.2 , and that could be Ballard, then they are not near as tough as when 'Death' is pitching. While Male and Trinity both have opening game laughers , they can load up for their duel, and that makes their bracket tough. X can hold their No.1 for the second game and face a No.2 (from Eastern or Ballard) giving them a decided advantage. So , X did get the best draw to me no matter how you slice it. If they had drawn Trinity or Eastern in the first round , they throw their No. 1 in the first round .And Male is the team to beat with Eastern being a slight second.X could win the region without facing anybodys' ace pitcher !
  9. I have often wondered if God would like to forget Ohio period. The land was blessed but the people amess. back to the topic:first round winners, Trinity,Male, Eastern, St.X Trinity vs. Male (Male has too much small ball for Rocks to overcome) Eastern Vs. St.X ( X -men show their love for Joe White) Male vs. St.X (Male 'small balls' its way to a regional title) Male ----7th region champs........even though ST.X caught the best break in the draw
  10. GET a video and do the work !!!!!!! Yes , they make 'em. Pylos, etc. all you need for about 40 bucks
  11. Hey Rock fans , I don't know what you were watching , but our offense hasn't been lacking since Coach Cov left............Coach Beatty has an outstanding scheme and understands all facets of football, and fundamentals are taught to the offense the way a good (great) coach does it; with disclipline. I always thought that Coach Cov was uncanny at play calling. He always has the right play on the chart to run at the right time, and the kids absolutely loved him, both on the field and in the classroom. I too am glad he is back , BUT , I want Coach Beatty to live to 100 and coach until he is 99.(Cov can be with him) He is a great man and coach, and so is Cov, but BB is the right man to be the head coach at THS. AND , he knows how to pick assistants! As for Coach Cov's stint at Castle, I never saw a Castle game , but I did see their 7 on 7 bunch last year. Folks, the talent wasn't there, at least for the aerial attack that he wanted to install. Cov is very articulate and concise, and those kids weren't getting it , and didn't have (a ) a QB with ANY kind of arm and (b) any recievers with hands or speed. Knute Rockne couldn't have made those kids into a passing threat. Cov never quit and coached relentlessly trying to get his kids to execute but couldn't. It was like trying to give everyone a slice of watermelon using a sledge hammer instead of a knife. The kids were looking forward to inside drill ,not skeleton drill or 7 on 7. For Cov to be a success there , he would have had to get the youth programs there to teach some passing offensive fundamentals, and wait about 6-8 years years while winning enough games to keep the fan base happy. Not at all an easy task. To claim he isn't a great coach is just assanine from his Castle era. The man has written books and has coached the passing game, literally, all over the world. He will excel again at Trinity , and anywhere he decides to land. Trinity is so lucky to have the men they have manning that football program. Not only now , but in years past, the coaching there has been astounding and a Beatty - Coverdale return hook-up is sure to be lots of fun.( yes, the defensive coaching is awesome also------runfirst, you can't swing at me there)
  12. the landlord for the price of 1 dollar ! wow
  13. I thought it was Mr.Zender who had the first 'Rock band" . In the 70's man ! I was on the field while they were jammin!
  14. 20 UNNNNN RRRREEEEEAAAALLLL That is a rediculous age for a high school kid, let alone an athlete. However, I think there should be a national age limit set for all states. Indiana has older age for school start up, therefore their 'holdbacks' must really be old. I think there should be a study of the surrounding states and go from there. The older the better for the athlete in most all cases. College coaches like 'maturity'. To me , a 20 year old , battling a 15 year old soph. is ludicrous. IMO the 15 year old is learning how to compete and the 20 year old is learning how to bully. I have a son that is 19 and is a sophomore in college and won't be 20 until he is a junior !
  15. Men, I could read this kind of stuff all night ! Love the art of hitting a baseball since I read Ted Williams book when I was 11 years old. All of you guys must be good coaches and I hope the kids and their parents appreciate you because of the time that you give .
  16. Yeah, It was in 2000 that St.X 'persuaded " the archdiocese to let them be landlords.(for a buck I think it was?) The parking lot was provided by monies that came from your alderman to help the "little league'.( which is the term generally used by the public for youth baseball 12 and under--and yes , Germantown hasn't been sanctioned by anyone other than Babe Ruth since I can remember) It has only been since 2000 that St.X has allowed Germantown Baseball Inc. to use its parking lot, while they have used the Germantown lot for their students for about 20 years. Get updated. You got one heckuva steal from that park, and it was fine the way it was.And while the X people think everything is fine there are many that do not like what has taken place .
  17. St.X never gave low rent to Germantown Little League, The Arch Diocese of Louisville did ! Actually , the City of Louisville paid for much of what is Germantown Little League, including the parking lot ! The Archdiocese and the city of Louisville are those to thank for Germantown Little League, St.X has never done 1 thing to help out the little league. They have just used everything that was there, and , eventually talked the archbishop into letting them be land owner without paying 1 cent ! However, in a provision made by the archdiocese , St.X can not overtake the little league without replacing the entire park and making it 'just as accommadating'. St.X still has never done 1 thing for Germantown, nor does it plan too, except for using its facilities that were paid for by tax payers money!
  18. Had to buy rings in 01,02,03 :thumb: ........but this 05 ring is really impressive :dancingpa
  19. Very well said. If you can't beat him , start up trash about him. It happened to Coach Lampley also. I suppose he gave Coach Beatty the heads up on those cheap shots that would come from those childish jealous games that some people have to play.My sons also enjoyed Coach Beatty. From what I hear he doesn't go around to grade schools telling 8th graders to come to play for him because his rival will never win one in their 4 years of high school if they go there. In fact , if he did something like that , the Trinity administration would probably take him to task. However , it is not the intent of some others to always have and show class. I have never heard Coach Beatty say a bad word about any program that has discipline and a little class, even though they may never direct any class toward him or his team. Coach Beatty is a better man than football coach, and for someone who has won 4 out of 5 state championships, that speaks A LOT! :thumb:
  20. :dancingpa WAS THAT AN U-P-S-E-T or a S-E-T-U-P ? Oh was # 16 ever so sweet.................still haven't heard or had any sight of the famed ' PENDULUM'
  21. WELL RUN, I suppose you envisioned this title run for the Rocks the whole season. Please show us the early season threads where you pointed that out to all of the Rock nation to see. :irked: We all knew that we had a better game than what was showed in Sept., and , I for one felt that X was posturing itself for the upset.(see the ballooning heads like that of Oxnard, who also has a broken clock I hear. That loud tick -tock of the pendulum must have been shattered ) I think the kids didn't think of themselves as a seabiscuit , but more like a secratariat. They felt like the better team going in. One of those things that you must have ....confidence! NOT TO SAY that I didn't try to make sure that X knew how good they were along the way. THEY WERE, THEY FINISHED SECOND! TRINITY WON THE 4-A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2005.......A YEAR IN WHICH THEY WERE NEVER RANKED #1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!11! :scared: :ylsuper:
  22. I saw this kid in the summer. He will have a great college career.
  23. I hope this gentleman is on someones suicide watch. :jump:
  24. There is no one happier than I with the way the defense performed ,not only in the State Game , but the final half of the year. Sure , I was ticked after the first game with X , and unjustly ripped some people. BUT, there were many who agreed that the 2 year point fest X put on us was more than a tad ridiculous. They wasn't that big of a talent discrepency, though X can lay claim to having the horses the past 2 years. This teams success has to be one of the all time best coaching performances by anyone , let alone Trinity. And the 'men of the year' have to be Huter and Holland. Those 2 were awesome on both sides of the ball. There could be no better 2 linemen in the state than those 2 young men. Beatty should be the coach of the year again, and Coach Bean deserves some heaps of praise also. Now , MR . Run First.........why not rip into Rick Bozich for his mockery of the Rocks offense after the first game. How many HS coaches get ripped in the Courier -Journal? Well, Coach Beatty did, and he should be given the chance to stick Bozo's article to him where the sun doesn't shine.OR , are you afraid to call out a newspaper columnist? .........and , I am so happy for Coach Beatty and Bean , but especially for Coach Beatty after losing his father just a year ago. Surely , coach learned many things from his father that has led him to being one of the finest coaches this state has ever seen.
  25. Gutsy game by the X qb.Not a knock on him at all. He is a great fella!
