Which of the four state champions has the best chance of repeating in 2006?

Why?

Personaly I think Russell has another good chance repeating this coming year

I think with some luck and some good play,and keeping people healthy Russell has a great shot.

I would say Russell and NCC has the best chance to repeat.

NC has a great chance repeating, they lose one off. lineman next year... I know they have voids to fill, QB is a big one and the def. positions but as we all know the skilled positions are more critical so I say a lot depends on how the new QB fills in.

I would say it is going to take a heck of a QB to fill those shoes!!

In this order:

 

Trinity

NCC

Russell

LexCath

 

The only team that would be a real surprise to me if they repeated would be LexCath. IMHO, LexCath will find it harder to replace Burke then the other teams will find replacing their key players. Also, LexCath's road to the state finals always includes CovCath and Highlands, and then probably either Rockcastle or Bell Co. They were able to run the gaunlet this year but two years in a row is asking a lot.

Trinity & NCC would be the top 2 IMO...then LexCath & Russell

Russell has a great chance. With the kids coming up along with the kids coming back- looks very possible. With the additions of kids moving home this Christmas- It is looking better all the time.

Replacing Diehl and Burke will make NC and LexCath's road most difficult. It will be very difficult for Lex Cath to get by Highlands or CovCath next year IMO. NC also had some great senior players that were special players. Obviously, every player is replaceable but some voids are harder to fill with the same calibre of player, i.e., Smith, Beuter, Canafax and several others on NC's squad. NC will have a much better chance of repeating in A than Lex Cath in 3A. I agree that Russell is the most likely repeat and T is always in the running for a state title in KY 4A.

Trinity, NCC, and Russell. I think Beechwood will make an appearance next year however.
