Which State Champion has the best chance to repeat in 2006?

Featured Replies

 look thru the history of sports in all different venues. one game make make you 'champs' on parper but it does not make you the undeniable "best" team of the year. Reevaluating the way the season went, Sept. 23 included, I think there is a justifiable argument of which is the best team of the 2005 season. See you next fall.

Undeniable or justifiable...X had their chance and they lost. Trinity was the undeniable winner last Friday and they clearly showed how classy of a team they can be. As for which "State Champion has the best chance to repeat", doesn't say "which runner up", I would Trinity and Russell.

Agreed. However, I will always prefer to be known as state champ rather than best team.

Yeah, me too I suppose, Just licking my wounds. Got to have an angle to ease the dissappointment.Hope the two best and classiest programs end up in a rematch for state in 2006. have a healthy offseason :thumb:

I would say it is going to take a heck of a QB to fill those shoes!!

I think Harris is as good as Sammy,he just needs to stay healthy.

Witty response! :thumb:

You know Im only having a little fun ox, you're most definately one of the classy X fans on here by far.

Oh, come on and be honest you know you think we're all classy. :D:D

Haha.

I know it will be hard to fill Sammy's shoes but they have the kids to do it... The most important thing that this years class has tought the younger players is how to be dedicated to the program and what it takes to Win!!!

I really believe that Rocks have a pretty good shot at repeating. I really think that their district will be even a little easier than this season. A number of teams lose great players i.e. KJ Black. The Rocks travel but if all goes well they might not have to travel until the semi-state. I understand that HC loses a bunch from this years team. Then in the final all of the potentials except X seem to losing a number of key starters. As for X, while the Rocks got swept at all three levels this year the JV and freshman games were much closer than the varsity game and the Rocks were able to close that cavernous gap by December. In addition to that a lot of underclassmen played key roles in this years championship. Not to mention having another year with this years championship MVP. :thumb:

Could it be any easier than it was this season?

My count may be off, but I think that I counted 17 players in the championship game that will be back next year for RUSSELL. With the 2 big injuries out, Michael Horn and team Captain Justin Potter, the Devils younger kids played very well. I think we have a good chance.

Not unless we move to NKY.

I think that Trinity has a very good chance of repeating. I make it 12 starters returning. That is a HUGE number for Trinity. The strength of the team should be the o-line, quarteback, d-line and linebacker. There are holes to fill, but that is more the norm at Trinity. With that said, it is also obvious that there are a lot of very good teams that will make a strong run. It is always hard to repeat.

Yikes!!!!!!! :creepy:

Just remember CR, it was only last year that your boys got tossed from the playoffs by one of the NKY 4A'ers!

Do you REALLY want to open up the whole East vs. West thing here?

Of course he does...look at his screename...
