For me:

1. Since X and T will not be in the finals I am looking forward to how all the other 4A schools respond.

2. The possibility of a Highlands/Bowling Green state final.

3. How both Mercer County and Newport fair in 2A this year.

How about you?

1. See how Coach Jason Chappell does in his first season at South Laurel

2. See how Coach David Abbott does in his second season at North Laurel

3. To see how Whitley does with Coach Jim Black at the helm. Always a running team, now with a passing coach should be very interesting.

4. How Mercer-burg does with the merger

5. See if someone else from R4 D8 (4A) can win that district besides Madison Central

6. AND last but certainly not least, ... to see who is the 4A state runnerup is to either Trinity or X in the state title game in 2006.

I know that is 6 things, but I am really interested this season!

1. Can Lloyd avoid a rebuilding type season

2. With Yeagle gone, how will Beechwood/NCC rivalry evolve

3. How will NKY 4A respond to the new format

I can only think of two things:

1) How the playoffs shape up in general.

2) How Beechwood does with Noel Rash as HC. (which I think will be fine)

6. AND last but certainly not least, ... to see who is the 4A state runnerup is to either Trinity or X in the state title game in 2006.

That will be #1 for me.

2. If Trinity's district is any good.

3. How the rest of the state will change the playoff setup when they still can't win in 4A.

3. Manual vs. Trinity

2. Manual vs. St. X

1. Manual vs. Male

1. Dixie's new complex.

2. New 4A playoff format.

3. How Beechwood looks with Yeagle completely gone.

For Morgan County...

1) Can the Cougars do the UNTHINKABLE and make their 3rd consecutive playoff appearance?

2) I'm looking forward to what should be a solid offensive line, very quick and athletic lead by bulked up sophomore center Ryan Buckler along with Charles Gilbert, Clay Adkins, Fletcher, Mike Paul Fugate, etc.

3) I'm looking forward to seeing the offense put up solid numbers. The Cougars have multiple weapons with Derrick Young, Wes Montgomery, Andy Fannin and possibly sophomore Brandon Ward.

Key DATES:

Non-District Game of the Year: MASON COUNTY visits West Liberty this season

District Game of the Year: Morgan Co. at Defending state champion Russell Red Devils.

1) To see where all this public/private stuff goes.

2) To see if Belfry continues their somewhat dominant run in 2A and can put up another Title

3) If Prestonsburg can recover from last year

4) How Pikeville does in year 2 of their new coach.

1. Dixie's new complex.

Thats a good one, I cant wait to see that!! :thumb:

1.Can Pikeville take back the district and region titles

2.Will Pikeville be able to compete with the winner of Region 3 if they do #1

3.Can Pikeville break the 5 game losing streak against Belfry

Thats a good one, I cant wait to see that!! :thumb:

I should've brought my camera today. I've got to drive by there later on, and I could've stopped for some more pics.

1) Trinity vs. St. Xavier... that just doesn't change from year to year.

2) Will Manual be able to overcome what appears to be both a brutal regular-season and playoff (provided the regular season isn't too brutal) schedule and win one or two in the postseason?

3) What will the non-4A Louisville schools bring to the table this year? The last few years have revealed some signs of life from schools like Christian Academy.

1. Highlands vs. Cov Cath at the nest

2. Highlands vs. Cov Cath at the nest in the playoffs

3. Highlands vs. Boyle County in the playoffs

Trinity Beating X in Sept

Trinity Beating X in Nov

Trinity winning their 17th State Championship in December!
