Great post. We have more class than to say that the only reason why they won the first game was because they had an all-american! We also don't have to state how much we appreciate linemen at Trinity because they already know how important, and how much their play is needed because they hear it every day in practice. In fact , every kid at Trinity knows that he is a valuable cog in a trophy grasping awesome system that is run by none other than Bob Beatty. Remember the X posts that spelled doom for us when coach cov left for Castle. I never ever heard coach Beatty complain the near loss of his father last year after the Dixie Heights loss, and ,he was shaken and very very close to his father. There is nothing but class in this man, and his system is awesome, and he develops players into the best they can possibly be. There is no reason to run the x-men into the ground. Let them be content to go 6-17 passing and celebrate their 'offensive balance'. They love what they have over there and quite frankly, I love the way things are working out these last 6 years myself. So kudos to both squads and both coaches. :thumb:

I am so overjoyed about this win that I haven't slept all weekend. What a year ! It was amazing to see Huter and Holland play both ways as much as they did, and Spoelker did some also and came up with a huge first hit in the title game. Nic Petrino also developed and got better and better all year. There are just so many facets of the development that all cannot be mentioned without typing endlessly. For the sake of having more class than they ever thought about having, let us refrain from kicking the dog while its down and let the x people agonize alone. Let's just gleefully praise our team and coaches efforts . Man , how did our side get so smart in so little time? :irked: It would be much better to admire this masterpiece instead of constantly reminding Ox and the gang about their arrogance. After all , not every heal attended the Poplar Level Road pig pen.

Oh, yeah......I remember that one !....................Hey , I am on cloud nine, but I still didn't like that 48-16 game. When do we play again ? What is scary is that the x people were certain that the only reason we made it to the title game was because we didn't face anyone in the play-offs. Henry Clay had one hecvkuva bunch of athletes ......we played some good teams

I'd like to hear from X fans, is it time for a coaching change?
ATTENTION TRINITY FANS , WE ...........NOT THEY ...........JUST WON OUR 16TH STATE CHAMPIONSHIP ! COACH BEATTY IS THE TRINITY COACH, HE WILL ALWAYS BE THE SUBJECT OF ATTACK BY THE x people. Any program suffers through adversity and it is easy to blame a coach. I for one , was not pleased with the way the defense performed in the last 2 x games. I have to think that the staff wasn't very pleased also. BUT, I saw the immense improvement and the nuts and bolts come together this year that I didn't see last year. I could have took a year for the scheme to sink in, I don't know. The bottom line is that the job was accomplished and there is nothing but joy in the Trinity family now and it didn't take a victory on Friday to create that. Our kids grew and got better and better and that is the main thing. I don't think that Beatty and Co. (along with Bean) should ever be questioned again. Of course , the x - men will continue to say all kinds of crap to try to 'impress' 8th graders to come to x. If their parents are smart, they will keep their kids away from sour grapes. Proud to say again , Trinity forever. (and 16 is so sweet !)

Bed time......great season Rocks....and THANKS
Every season that ends in a championship is special, but this one is especially sweet because of how that group of players &coaches stuck together and pulled it off. The faithful were even moaning , and the green & gold was gloating, but the kids and staff stuck it out and pulled out a championship when the mighty X -men were supposed to ravage us in the 'rematch for glory.' We had so many injuries , and kept getting players to step in and perform like champions. I have to say that sweet sixteen was the sweetest of them all !

If you have ever attended a coaching clinic ever, there are many coaches who strive to be as physical with a good passing quarterback as possible. Some officials have a slighter judgement on what is roughing the qb and what isn't . I am not accusing X of dirty play. I am sure that it is in their game plan to get after the passer, and Trinity has had great passers for the last 6 years and there has been some calls go against you because the defense is a little overzealous in trying to get to the qb.(which is how I would play it also) It is part of the game,as well as the refs judgement. Still , take away that drive and Trinity still wins, 7-6. And as far as the clueless one who stated that if you play 10 times , X wins 8, that is truly unfounded and classless. X had 2 weeks to prepare for Trinity for the 1st game. That gives you a huge edge in preparation, and a good reason for the Tiger awesome success in game 1. Both teams had great seasons, Trinity just won the state championship game and with 4 starters on defense still on the sideline with injuries, one of which didn't get to play all season.(a monster of a player I might add) I am one who thought all along that we were in their class and could get them if we had another shot. We did look like the Little sisters of the poor in the first game, but that was just for 9 weeks of bragging rights.(which many a X posters did mightily on here) Congrats to both teams and I feel for Coach Glaser for the loss of his father in law , who I hear he was very close to. I have been through family losses during seasons myself and Coach Beatty went through the same thing with his father last year.(he passed away a couple of days after the last game ) It really puts things into proper perspective. Football is a great game of fun , and it helps heal wounds that we all recieve when we lose loved ones. Congratulations to both teams on sensational seasons. Merry Christmas, and a happy healthy new year to all !

If you coach your kids to whack the QB after a throw until it gets called, eventually it is going to burn you . Yes , Nick was hit late , and flagrantly ,on the INT. that was disqualified. Another spot argument? I felt like we had several bad spots throughout the game. The failed 4th down try was one of them. However, I did feel like the officials were consistant with their spotting after each down. I absolutely feel like an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty should have been called when #3 picked the ball up after the measurement. Also , the same kid hit a Trinity player in the face with the ball after the last kick-off return. I was surprised that X let him return to the game.

Congratulations to the Shamrocks ! This one has to be the sweetest of the 16 ! What character this team , this staff and this school showed in the scond half of the season. To overcome the avalanche of injuries and pull the upset of the century leaves me breathless and bursting with Pride. Merry Christmas to all !

Yeagle officially resigns at Beechwood
The accomplishments by Beechwood under Coach Yeagle are mind boggling. Is he headed for the college ranks? Would love to see a man like him at UK. (to join Coach Smith from Boyle Co.)

St. Xavier 21 John Hardin 20
It just goes to show you how tough that side of the bracket is. The 2 pt, try may have well been for the 4A State Title. No one else can even touch X the rest of the way.

Two Big Rematches in Louisville Next Friday!
There is no High School stadium in the country that would have enough seating for a Manual-St.X , Trinity -Fern Creek double header! X-Manual would be played at Manual would it not? The DH would need at least 20,000 seats. Is Manuals' field in bad condition?
-
Manual vs St.Xavier
St.X will be ready this time around. X will win in a laugher as the Green Wave of Meade County proved a worthy opponent for the struggling Crimson crew on 11/4.

All-State Candidates
we shall see how lexington teams perform this year in the play-offs.................if your teams are so good in the mountains etc, then give us a call, don't beat your gums ! Highlands only wanted to play us when they had Guidugli , etc. They didn't even want their frosh or JV to play us, nor did they want to schedule a series of games . Boyle turned us down , and even turned down a chance to scrimmage us. Talk is cheap. If you want to talk your talk, you got to walk the walk. As they say in the mountains , 'it ain't braggin if you can backit up'.

I wish I could get out there and see all these kids play. I really think that BGP has engineered a lot of enthusiasm for HS football in our state:thumb:

All-State Candidates
No .......don't put words in my mouth mr.:irked: I was listening to Jody Demling on the radio and he said that the State was loaded this year. Lots of D-1 players and D1AA players that are darn good players. As far as schedules go , I don't think anyone could have played a tougher one than Trinity. Covington Cath. you might have an argument !
