I thought St. X would win, but I didn't know it would be a 50 point victory. I doubt they will be stopped in the championship.

I thought X would win by around 21, but they just threw Central around. It's unfortunate to see the season end like that, but it is a testament to how good the Tigers are. I haven't seen Trinity play, so I can't say who would win, but it would be hard to imagine a team playing better than X. They were just unbelievable tonight. Congrats to X, and congrats to the Dragons on a great season! 12-2 is nothing to sniff at!

Great performance by St. X. Warren Central was simply outmanned and overwhelmed, especially along the lines. St. X came out motivated and firing on all cylinders.

 

St. X got TDs from Anderson (3), Mattingly (3), Drew Eckman (1) and Alex Kramer on a punt return. Tim Doughtery added two FGs in a bitter cold.

The 50-point win is the largest in a 4A semifinal since Trinity beat Tates Creek 50-0 in 2001.

 

The 62 points scored by St. X is the most in a 4A semifinal game in the past 25 years and the most in any semifinal since Highlands beat Lawrence County 76-36 in 1999.

Tigers, you looked magnificient tonight. I was especially happy to see the great improvement in the play of the special teams over the performances in the previous two games. With 10 scores being registered tonight (8 tds. and 2 fgs.), I got to listen to the St. X. Fight Song more than I have heard it in years. Besides giving kudos to the players and coaches, I would also like to salute the St. X. fans who came in droves and were loud and enthusiastic in their cheering support. :thumb:

Very impressive victory for the Tigers. They simply overwhelmed the Dragons with their size and speed in all phases of the game. My hat is off to Warren Central; they fought has hard as they could and came up with some big plays - 80 yrd. TD pass where the WR broke three X tackles.

 

Congrats once again to the Tigers and it's time to get the lawn mower fired up one more time and now down the weeds and bring home St. X's 14th state title!!!

Congrats ST.X go beat them SHAMROCKS!!! Again, ONLY, those pesky young men of HARDIN COUNTY were able to give those TIGERS a game.

Wow.... St. X might not be stopped next week... This reminds me of when X beat down Scott Co. last year in the 4A state game. I thought Warren Central would be more competative??? Good job St. X, I personally don't have a horse in the race, but best of luck in the rematch.

Running game was on and Warren Central's QB was running from Tigers all night long. John Hardin converted on 3rd downs with a very athletic QB who scrambled and could throw while doing it. Tonight, WC's QB looked like he was used to pocket passing and the Tiger D didn't let that happen. Mattingly and Eckman were MARVELOUS! Way to go D Line! Play your game and take State!
