I'd like to hear from X fans, is it time for a coaching change?

Featured Replies

This season has to go down as one of the most disappointing in the history of Tiger football. Several potenial college caliber athletes, a back that was offered as a sophomore and a QB that had never tasted defeat. Dream senario no doubt. Mix in the feeling by most X faithful that situation over in St. Matthews was chaos and it just couldn't get any better for the Tiger clan. Too bad they had to actually play the pesky game. So now the Tigers must face the fact that Bob Beatty can best Mike with All Americans and without. I would think that the Tiger faithful are uneasy at this time. So Tigers I ask you, is it time for a change?

Why am I not shocked you would start this thread

I certainly know that there was lots of talk from the Poplar Level Animal Shelter last year that Bob Beatty was all flash and no substance after failing to reach the final game for the first time since arriving in Louisville (what an underachiever ;) ). Now correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this the team described by Mike Glasier in the pre-season as one he felt comfortable talking about repeating with because they were as good as the hype? Has Mike Glasier ever led a st. x team to an undefeated season? Has he ever led st. x. to back to back championships? According to my math, and it could be wrong, in 6 years Bob Beatty is just one short of Mike Glasier in titles and Glasier has been at x for 20+ years. It will be interesting to hear this.

OH my....St X loses the state championship game and they want a coaching change. This is ridiculous! You X fans are so spoiled! Call it an honor that you get to play in the game! You are lucky to have someone that can lead you there.

Didn't coach Glaser get on the radio after the first game, and state to all 8 graders who wanted to play football, to come to X? Did he have a similar message after this game?

If you really want to  you should go back and read some of the comments on an old thread about "who will be the next coach at Trinity?" from back in the beginning of the season. Some pretty funny comments (including yours TD). :sssh:

A Trinity guy started this thread. Where has an X person siad such. This is just a crap starter of a thread and Glaser will leave on his own. They will be back the next two years and after some more titles this game will be forgotten as the game in 03 was forgotten. Things like this just make you work harder, just ask Trinity.

So far their hasn't been a St. X fan respond. These are all Trinity Supporters.

Sorry Tigerkat you responded while I was typing.

There was a smug undertone regarding Coach Beatty in the comments of many ex-men after last year. Paybacks can be fun, but I would suggest that all of the Trinity folk let the tiggers take care of their coaching. They have done okay so far.

You Would Be Insane To Look For A Coaching Change! I Dont Know Of One X Fan Who Has Called For This. Since When Is A 1 Loss Season Such A Disappointment? Why Would You Fire A Coach After 26 Straight Wins!

Lsu, Why Even Bring This Up? Would You Fire Beatty After Such?

Nice Try

Well, I can see that the "classy post" period has ended and the pebbles have entered the low-ball potstirring phase. This topic has no merit whatsoever. The St. X. football team laid a clunker last Friday night and lost to a deserving Trinity squad by a narrow 14-6 score. In reality, we all know that in this rivalry anything can and often does happen.

In terms of the status of the St. X. football programs, we could not be happier with the performance under Coach Glaser's leadership. This is especially true over the past couple of years, where the offense has been diversified somewhat, and the Tigers "broomed" the wee-weeds at all levels during the regular season. Mike has been, and always will be, a much more caring and personable individual than Beatty, who despite the results of Friday night remains a very controversial figure in the trinity community. The future still looks much brighter in Tigertown than in the St. Matthews landfill. I'm standing pat on my hand...the real question is are you drawing ONE? :sssh:

Up until around 7:30 Friday you said that they were a lock to win this year. What makes your new prediction any more credible? I'm not trying to start any you know what, I honestly believe there are X fans that disappointed in Glaser's abilities. All we heard last year was "the pendulum has swung X's way". Well if you call sandwiching one title between four titles by the Rocks a pendulum swing. I'd call it a blip on the radar. I would suggest that Coach Glaser send the coaching staff up at Dixie Heights a big thank you note. Who knows, if the Rocks would have made it to the finals last year they might be looking at FIVE STRAIGHT!!! I suggest you go along with TD when he looks back on those "who will replace Beatty" threads, I don't recall you labeling them as "crap starter"s.

You are new so I'll let it slide, but I would suggest you do a little homework on this subject. Multiple threads popped up over the past two seasons very disrespectful of Trinity's coach and staff by the X faithful and "others". My response, check out the record. When it counts, Beatty is 2-0 against Glaser.

It's easy for a Trinity fan to take these shots at Glaser. He's anti-Trinity 24/7. But if I'm an X fan, I'd be proud of Glaser. He's always done a good job by the kids, and he obviously loves his school. You can't ask for more than that.

Nice try buddy, but with all the reports of planned celebrations and ring designs and championship Tee shirts being swept out of PJCS late Friday night. I have to ask, who do you think you're kidding. I would guess that you don't even know Coach Beatty so your comparisons to Coach Glaser are baseless.

This one really had to hurt. Sorry but it looks like all the reports of some pendulum activity were greatly overstated. I also have been around long enough to remember all the X-men comments about how freshman and JV games were for learning purposes only at X so the results really didn't matter. Of course this was when you were being swept. Now you expect us to believe the "let the Rocks have the title, we'll take the sweep" attitude.
