SHA won its Apple Tournament in a thriller and hard fought game over CAL. The scoreless game went into sudden death OT,, and the after 2 tied flicks at 4-4 in each, SHA won on a sudden death on the first flick. Personally I think the flick is an awful rule.

Beating Eastern may not be something to thump your chest about.

After winning the KHSAA State Championship over CAL in an OT game on a winning goal by Tournament MVP, Olivia Mayer, Sacred Heart is continuing its winning ways in the 49th Apple Tournament this week. Last night SHA defeated a good CAL team 4-0, and tonight plays South Oldham who it "mercy ruled" last week. Assumption appears to be the team to beat in the other pool. A little hot for the teams this week.

In fairness to X, in 2005 starting QB Brent Curley went out with ankle sprain and a shot to the head. Played a soph and lost a lost of the offense, including Curley who did an excellent QB draw.

Unfortunately I tend to agree with you LTR. If we are unable to throw at all, it will be along night for the Tigers. Glad they got here. Losing first 2 QBs a killer, but maybe wouldn't have made a difference anyway.

This is not a commentary, but what was the makeup of the two teams? I woulf prefer all Sophs and Frosh, but those days are long gone.

Assumption beat Sacred Heart in the finals. 0-0 after first OT, then they go to "strokes." Assumption beat SHA about 3 weeks ago the same way. Manual simply advanced by forfeit after the CAL attempted bit of trickery.

The JV Field Hockey Pumpkin Tournament is underway ay Manual's Rachel Baker Field. This is essentially a "state tournament" for the JV teams, though obviously nothing is official. The semis tomorrow feature SHA v. Manual, and Assumption v. KCD. Christian Academy was disqualified today for apparently trying to play 3 varsity members down on the JV team for the tournament. Due to the Covid restrictions, attendance is limited.

I heard maybe Boyle County. Any confirmation?

Is the big kid who originally was at Holy Cross still at Ballard?

If my Tigers can't score their first offensive TD of the year it will be a long night. Oh, and look for more than one receiver.

So, did we (X) play our Freshmen, Sophs, or both?

I hope they add to the tickets. It won't help me but the families of the kids on both teams should be allowed to enjoy the spectacle that is the game. More importantly, will the number of players on the sidelines be increased from 60? As it stands, Seniors are not going to get to dress for the game they all look forward to for years.

This score is not nearly the same as last year's freshmen games. A lot of Juniors, T improvement, or what?

If people were responding to my post, I did not pick my Tigers to win. I said that I liked them. You must have missed the English grammar class on conjunctions, like "but" which was in the sentence.

I like my Tigers but I think we are a year away.

The good news is that field hockey is back for the girls, albeit a shorter season. SHA has started out 3-0 with wins over Seneca, Manual, and Assumption. JVs are undefeated also.

That list has at least one error. The game in 1965 was at Manual. I played. It was my senior year.

My concern is the offense. Only 13 rushing plays and 23 passes. That is only 36 offensive plays.

How long is this Cincy Saint X contract? This is a horrible season-ender which means nothing to us and is a physical game and sends us into the playoffs with a loss. I don't mind playing them, just not last.
