St. Xavier 29 Butler 6 (Froshmore)

Tigers led 8-0 at halftime and Tigers depth allowed them to pull away in 2nd half.

I guess Froshmore teams will become more prevalent in the future.

I hope not, that is a big step backwards.

It seems like there are becoming more and more froshmore teams over the last couple of years.

JCPS only allowing 2 teams this year because of Covid so just varsity and froshmore. St.X still plays JV and frosh with Trinity and Moeller. I think Male will go back to JV and frosh teams next year.

My nephew played for St. X; according to updates I received he finished with 8 receptions for 64 yards.

I think Froshmore can be ok.  BG Froshmore played at Apollo last Thursday and the teams agreed that the only Sophomores that could play were the ones that didn't get any JV time.  You obviously have to go by coaches word here, but I think that's a good way to get some kids the opportunity to play more and hopefully develop/catch a coaches eye to help them improve.

If a SO, gets no JV time then he is just a JR the next year with no experience since possibly some at Frosh ball.  But BG still has a JV team too in addition to the Frosh/Froshmore team(s).  If we are replacing teams or doing away with teams then I hate to see that.

So, did we (X) play our Freshmen, Sophs, or both?

Played sophomores and some freshman. I think it depended on depth at each position as to how many freshman. For example, Adam Boone is sophomore that is #2 QB on varsity and started on JV so he is not on froshmore but sophomore QB Ben Strong and freshman QB Jackson Hepner both played froshmore game.
