  1. I am not a fan of Beatty, however, he has earned the right to leave when he wants, absent some type of bombshell. A losing season is not a bombshell.
  2. If I'm Kentucky I play Smith and Bowden several times early and see what defensive schemes are played. With both in the backfield to take a snap, it will be interesting. Against UT-Martin they had Smith faking a handoff and running outside when the OLB committed. Picked up yardage each time. I think that freezes the OLBs.
  3. It has been that way in every sport. For the great majority of the time it has worked. Name the sport. It is an alumnus or an assistant coach moving up. Went outside the box a few years ago for wrestling and it was an unmitigated disaster.
  4. Wolford dismantled an offense in his first season that was handmade by Glaser to power to the championship. He was a lineman but really did not develop any lineman for D1, and these Juniors and Seniors were his players. If I have a criticism of Glaser it was his hardheadedness to not open up his offense. Nobody wanted 30 passes a game, but mix it up. I think that failure to open up the offense cost us speedy and skilled athletes over the years.
  5. Sorry to say, but I think Woolford was a failed experiment. said it was a mistake almost from day one. Not on campus during the day. No development of players. No relationship to the players. Interesting that when we advertised for a coach this time that qualifications were teaching certificate, head coach experience.
  6. I think this is a tough match-up for my Tigers with Male's size and speed at receiver. A bad field may neutralize some of this. Still will take their best effort to date.
  7. Running clock. Another cakewalk. An unbelievably weak district outside of Trinity.
  8. Financially a forfeit probably best for all. I have said it in other threads, we have a bunch of morons in KHSAA.
  9. Congrats to T and to my Tigers for runner-up. That 2 point difference is just a second or two anywhere in the race. Great job by both teams and 2 great programs who are there every year.
  10. I think it is T and Male at very low odds. Manual and X a little back, but there is separation. The rest are pure long shots.
  11. Congrats to Highlands. A return trip is a great accomplishment in any sport. I just love it though when we allow games to be played in extreme weather where the elements help control the outcome of a game. Kudos again to the morons at the KHSAA.
  12. Don't get me wrong, I like this game because of the competition. But come on guys. The last game of the season before playoffs? Let's get this changed.
  13. My feelings exactly. I am impressed by the fact that BG steps up and plays X and T. My respect and hat's off to them.
  14. Things appear to be looking up. My hat is off to South Oldham for stepping up.
  15. I don't know too much about either team. I am glad to see Trinity playing an in-state school instead of always going out of state. I am aware of the reluctance of most state schools to schedule T or X, but it could only help their programs and allow fans to see other teams than just the ones in their region.
  16. "In order to provide an optimal experience for our participants" Nope. Didn't make that up. That is part of the KHSAA official release when it rescheduled the softball tournament in June. That was for impending weather, not the monsoon experienced on Saturday that was already imminent and there. A bunch of clowns calling the shots.
  17. Last night CAL defeated Manual and Assumption defeated Sacred Heart in a triple overtime to advance to the finals on Monday night. Both games were played in miserable conditions, and especially the hard fought game between SHA and Assumption which was played in a driving rainstorm over half the game resulting in a slippery field and hazardous conditions for play. Just wonder who the morons are at the KHSAA who made the decision to play the games in these conditions instead of Monday, and not only risk injuries to the girls, but not allow the teams to play at their best? Probably the same clowns who allow a team to play the semis and finals on their home field instead of a neutral site. Where do we get these people?
  18. I agree with you on the CAL game. It was an upset only because CAL was a runner-up and KCD won their region. Who won CAL-Manual? Would love to see the games moved up or postponed to Monday. Also would allow me to see Kentucky at 7:30. CAL packed it in against SHA. On defense all 9 players plus the goalie played in the circle. They had the state's leading scorer and never took a shot on goal. I think they were playing for a flick off. CAL and Manual will be a good game.
  19. Sacred Heart shut out South Oldham 1-0. CAL beat KCD 5-1 in an upset. Manual beat Male 5-1. No score yet on Assumption-PRP. On Saturday CAL and Manual will square off at 6 at CAL. SHA will play the winner of Assumption PRP at 7:45 at CAL. These are the semi-finals.
  20. The State Tournament begins Thursday with quarterfinals action as below: Male at Manual CAL at KCD S. Oldham at SHA PRP at Assumption Saturday's semi-finals at CAL: Game 1 v. Game 2 winners @ 6 Game 3 v. Game 4 winners @ 7:45 Championship Monday at 7 at CAL. Manual, KCD, SHA, and Assumption were Regional winners.
  21. The 2019 State Field Hockey Tournament will begin play this week. Regional finals are tonight, and the winner and runner-up both advance. Sacred Heart enters the tournament ranked 23rd Nationally and #2 in the Midwest. Others ranked in the Midwest are Manual at #3, Assumption at #8, and CAL at #10. Some of these teams have played ranked competition all season. SHA has played at least 5 teams ranked in the National top 25. SHA, Assumption and Manual all played in the Maxpreps National Invitational earlier this year. North Oldham, also ranked in the Midwest, fell in the first round of the region and has been eliminated from the tournament.
