  1. Been watching UK BB going back to the Runts, many of whom I knew. I am always a little squeamish playing starters late in a blowout. Go back and Google Kent Hollenbeck who blew out an ankle starting for Adolph in a blowout. What happens if Wheeler, etc. go down while we are up 25? Opinions will change.
  2. I don't want him to start or necessarily play a lot. My gripe is a 30+ point lead and not playing a scholarship player.
  3. Some of you missed my point. Allen, a scholarship player, could have played at any time during the game up 25+ with 4 starters. Cal did nothing more than embarrass the kid. How long was his leash on Boston? This was a la Billy G.
  4. So, with a 25 point lead, Allen was going to singlehandedly blow the lead with 15 minutes to go?
  5. I didn't say he couldn't coach. Just likes to play games.
  6. I hope he goes somewhere and pulls a Johnny Juzang or the kid that transferred to Michigan. Really getting tired of Cal's games.
  7. I am sorry, but Cal is a jerk for not playing him earlier. He had 20+ point leads and could have easily played him. I think he intentionally is embarrassing the kid and hopes he transfers. A great example for future Kentucky HS kids. Cal should have played the walk-ons earlier. He is so worried about his 5 stars getting drafted he forgets everyone else.
  8. The CJ listed their All State Teams this morning. There are three on offense and three on defense. Incredibly, only two players from 6A Champion Saint Xavier made third team offense. No others on offense or defense. I'm guessing great play as a team here, and a great coaching job by the entire staff. Go Tigers.
  9. No seniors starting or no seniors on the roster? If the latter, what happened there. That's really unusual. Seems like they've always had some senior standout.
  10. I only saw Male in the first X game. From TV highlights they seemed to like the big play and obviously putting a lot of points on the board. My suspicion is they got impatient as most teams do and did not one to just gut it out.
  11. I agree, Male should be scheduling tougher games. The problem is that when you do that you might not win ten games, and no one is talking about how great you are.
  12. I saw the first game, and in my eyes, X couldn't get to the QB quick enough and Male's speed at WR let them get past the DBs all night. That night X had a bunch of defensive starters out and lost by 7. Some of those starters are back. X has to get to the QB and not allow time for the WRs to get deep. Male is incredibly gifted and it will take a giant effort, but I think X can pull it out.
  13. The winner did not surprise me but the score did. Congrats.
  14. Almost too close to call. I think Male in a "slobber knocker" game, but I am a little suspect about their schedule.
  15. I think the Tigers simply because they are getting close to full strength and it will show. Have to show a lot of respect for the Northington kid.
  16. I'll take Male in this game, only because I haven't seen Trinity play. Male just got by X, and X had 6 defensive starters out, including entire DL, so T might sneak up. Should be some scoring in this one.
  17. SHA won its Apple Tournament in a thriller and hard fought game over CAL. The scoreless game went into sudden death OT,, and the after 2 tied flicks at 4-4 in each, SHA won on a sudden death on the first flick. Personally I think the flick is an awful rule.
  18. Beating Eastern may not be something to thump your chest about.
  19. After winning the KHSAA State Championship over CAL in an OT game on a winning goal by Tournament MVP, Olivia Mayer, Sacred Heart is continuing its winning ways in the 49th Apple Tournament this week. Last night SHA defeated a good CAL team 4-0, and tonight plays South Oldham who it "mercy ruled" last week. Assumption appears to be the team to beat in the other pool. A little hot for the teams this week.
