  1. Just a question to the Corbin faithful from a Belfry fan. Do you think Corbin could benefit by taking a more "Belfry-esque approach" by running, running, running, them going to play action? With a talent like Cashen, I would think Corbin could really be effective by calling running plays around 2-1 and mixing in a lot of play action, even on first down. Of course in order to be effective, the LOS would have to be controlled. IMO Corbin has the boys up front. It just seems they have gotten used to backpeddling on the snap.
  2. I like both of those backfields the best as well.
  3. How to Pirate fans expect to see the running back situation change this week? I for one felt May looked very good from the TB spot. How does Heath Varney factor in?
  4. How good is Robinson? D-1 talent?
  5. After more thought, Russelll would prob beat East Carter by 5 tds, so I think they do the same to Boyd. Russell - 40 Boyd - 7
  6. Was the QB accurate? Did the chains move?
  7. Hey OneIJoe, haven't seen you in any of the Belfry threads this year. Where ya been? I like Breathitt by a TD in this one. Breathitt - 28 Pburg - 21
  8. Lets here some more about Lawrence Co. What kind of stats did the Lawrence passing game rack up in their opener? Who are the explosive players for the Bulldogs? Were they able to break big plays? How big and effective is County up front?
  9. I think May could play MLB at the D-1AA level. He is a strong young man with a great frame and decent speed. Harmon is a very strong runner with a lot of ability, but a bit small in stature.
  10. Anyone else have any comments? Did PT look like a team poised to make a title run in 3a?
  11. May does NOT have a championship ring. Just FYI.
  12. This game is at CAM. The winner of this game will win the LOS, simple as that. I think Belfry has more athletes and they are pretty strong up front. Pirates pitch a shutout
  13. WOW, way to go Trigg Co!
  14. LOL at Coach J's issue. I know its not funny, but it kinda is at the same time.
  15. Pirates aren't going to light up the scoreboard this year. They are more of a "good drive a quarter" type team. I just don't see Lawrence getting much going on offense against the Belfry D.
  16. Couldn't be more pleased with the Pirates! The o-line played very good against a quality opponent. If they play at a high level, Belfry's lack of breakaway speed may not matter. Elkins looked MUCH improved over last season. I expect big things out of that kid after last night. I really like May running from the tailback position. May, Lee, and Dotson at FB looked very good to me, but I don't think Dotson carried the ball a single time. For that formation to be as good as it can, Dotson has to be productive carrying the ball on dive plays. I think he will be fine. The other tailbacks looked good as well. #7 and #9 are small in stature but played solid football, especially considering they are only Sophs. Belfry's front seven was excellent. Did I mention Elkins look ok?
  17. This is very sad news. My thoughts are with his loved ones tonight.
