  1. Dustin May from Belfry has to be at least mentioned. I think he deserves to have his name thrown out. He has impressive size and speed @ 6'2 220 If he can come in for his senior campaign at 230 or 235 and gain a step or so, I think he could play some significant college ball.
  2. Pikeville had 175 lb lineman who looked like they could run like tailbacks. I think they are 3 more big kids (220+ lineman types) who can play from being dominant. They certainly have a great deal of speed and athleticism.
  3. Completely disagree with above post. Belfry does have a lot of good young talent but nobody with proven gamebreaking speed. This years team has only1 in Chapman. I'm not sure Belfry will have enough to win a title this year, and next year looks similar. They might, but they will have to do it without requiring on the big play that has been so critical to recent success.
  4. Bell needs to come out and dominate a team they should beat. They have played mediocre against teams everyone thought they would wear out.
  5. No running back in 2a has more pressure on him than Corey Chapman from Belfry. He is the best big play chance for the Pirates and he responded ridiculously last weekend against Pikeville. If he didn't, we lose that game.
  6. After seeing Pikeville play this past weekend, I have them playing Danville in the final now.
  7. Harmon From Pikeville and Corey Chapman from Belfry May is probably the best FB
  8. LOL at this thread. I have no problem with it, just think its amusing to some extent.
  9. Favorite - Mercer Co. Darkhorse - Caldwell Co.
  10. Didn't Newport BARELY squeek by Ludlow? Mercer will ROLL Mercer 55 Newport 14
  11. I think it was good for Elkins to get hit on every play. I don't mean to sound insensitive, but he HAS to get stronger and tuffer. I thought he played a good game, and has a bright future, but I have a feeling this game served as a wake up call to the young man. He will need to work VERY hard in the offseason if he doesn't want to put up with similar behavior every game the rest of his career.
  12. Belfry tackled very poorly. I agree they were fortunate to pull out the victory, but the Pirates certainly made some big plays when they needed them. All, in all this game was played extremely hard. Pikeville put forth a superior effort IMO, but just came up a little short on the scoreboard. I would say Belfry better improve a great deal for the rest of the season, but I honestly don't feel we will see a team as good as the Panthers were FRIDAY until the 3rd round of the playoffs.
  13. I think Pikeville gets the Monkey off their back next year. They have a very talented and fiery team. That said 6 in a Row!
  14. If I deserve it, I look forward to it! :thumb:
  15. HitStick... I saw Brandon Smith play (what i believe) was his first game as a starter against Pikeville in the Pike Co Bowl. The kid was solid, but at the time I guess I didn't realize just what kind of run that program was about to go on. For Boyle Co fans, I guess I say this: Who cares if you guys have a couple down year? Bowl Co. went on a run that programs can't even dream of! Count yourself lucky to have witnessed to incredible feat and cheer on those kids.
  16. Ok... I happen to think Harmon will get some yardage. Still he went head to head with Vicars from NCC last season in which Pikeville got smoked. Belfry made Vicars look very average IMO. I think Harmon is a very talented young tailback who is good now and will be awesome in the future, but Harmon, Harmon, Harmon will not be enough to beat the Pirates. Who will block the 270 lb Totten? Who will block Will Sutherland and Bobby Burton? Who will stop Ivan Lee (Sophmore with ridiculous talent who is 6'2 240 and just turning baby fat into good ole fashioned football muscle)? I can keep asking questions. Look, I am kinda shocked at the depth of the Pirate defense myself, but they really have 20 kids that get time among the 11 positions on that side of the ball. IMO, the depth will simply be too much over A FOUR QUARTER GAME! Pikeville will wear down. If I'm wrong, i want to be chastised venemontly for a solid week.. I won't be wrong.
  17. Danville vs Beechwood. Same great story, just a different year!
  18. I hate to jump in before anyone else gets to comment. Personally, I think if he puts on 10-15 lbs and increases his speed and agility some, he could be a smaller conference D-1 prospect (such as MAC, Sun Belt, or even perhaps C-USA). IMO, the kid has the frame to easily put on weight to be a linebacker or fullback at the next level. His speed is not mindboggling by any means, but I think its certainly solid. After a redshirt year, I could see May being a fantastic player at a program like Cincy, Miami Oh, or Bowling Green.
  19. Haven't seen a lot of the Louisville boys play (which I hope to do), but I saw Minnefield last season, and the kid was PURE. He does it all for Henry Clay, so IMO he has to be #3 at least behind Anderson and Beaumont.
  20. Belfry does. #20 Jr. Dustin May 6'2" 220 is currently ranked number 10 among 2a rusher from the FULLBACK position! This young man is a beast on the field... Just thought I would give him a little shout out.
  21. I think few would argue with Cole.
  22. I think Dustin May will be the best player on the field. He might not be the best Rb on the field, but overall the most impressive kid on the turf tommorrow night.
  23. Calling Shively a suburb to Louisville and Ashland a suburb to Huntington is POOR logic OneIJoe. I usually respect you comments, but your off base here. Shively blends into Louisville to the point where you cannot discern a difference between the two. Ashland is 13 (i'm going off old memory) miles from and nearly half the size of Huntington. I don't think its a valid comparison. If you want to gripe, fine. I understand and even encourage it, but the "suburb" comparision is weak IMO. Why not just tell your true opinion of the series (within the limits of the rules of course) and quit trying to reach a level of nuance that isn't fitting?
